00:00Vice President J.D. Vance, President Trump's appointed leader of the, quote,
00:03war on fraud, announced the administration will not reimburse Minnesota for nearly $260 million
00:10in Medicaid funds. We have decided to temporarily halt certain amounts of Medicaid funding that are
00:19going to the state of Minnesota in order to ensure that the state of Minnesota takes its
00:25obligation seriously to be good stewards of the American people's tax money. The hold impacts
00:31about half the receipts submitted by the state for the low-income Medicaid program during the past
00:35fiscal quarter. The announcement, first reported exclusively by The Post, focuses on 14 programs
00:42identified by Minnesota as high risk for fraud, things like autism care, at-home rehab, and non-emergency
00:48medical transport. The freeze will also impact companies that seek subsidies for durable medical
00:54equipment, things like canes and walkers, through Medicare. Officials say last year there was about
00:59$1 billion in fraudulent reimbursements for such items.
