00:05Sports.com has a list of the top 50 free agents. I think that.
00:10The one common thread that I'm seeing Texans wise, Seth.
00:15Is that there are very few free agents that detects.
00:20Texans have that are going to be where there'll be bidding wars on them, right?
00:25It's hard to find a list of the top 50 that has a Texan in it, which is a good thing.
00:30Previous years, we might say, yeah, this is how bad the Texans are.
00:33They don't need a this year.
00:35Because one of the top things that people ask me about is.
00:40Boy, but what happens with free agency with the defense?
00:43And they'll bring up Tommy Togiai.
00:45And it's always fun because I get to pleasantly surprise them by saying, Tommy Togiai was extended in week.
00:50Tommy Togiai is under contract, but the free agents that they.
00:55They do have their the the most notable one in terms of a guy.
01:00That's got it had a pretty respectable contract than Nico Autry, and he's done good things for the Texans.
01:05But beyond that, it's really a lot of guys who are here on one year deals like EJ Speed.
01:10And it's a whole bunch of defensive tackles.
01:13So Tim Settle.
01:15Mario Edwards, Mario Edwards, Foley Patakasi, Kurt Heinisch.
01:20Like those guys are free agents.
01:22I think you can resign a couple of those guys that are.
01:25reasonable amount, but also remember that those all of those guys are guys that when you.
01:30brought in people were kind of very few people were super excited about them as.
01:35one year deals or two year deals or guys that weren't marquee name guys, the Texans tend to get.
01:40the absolute best version of their defensive tackles when they plug them into this system.
01:44Yeah, if I had to guess.
01:45all the names you just named that there's three more of those guys out there that will be.
01:50coming in, like it settle, you know, settle and Mario, they might move on, settle until he got.
01:55hurt was having a really good season, you know, so so we'll see what happens as far as this list.
02:00goes the names that are interesting to me on the list look Daniel Jones.
02:05the Texans obviously are in on Daniel Jones, but he's the third listed one on this top 15.
02:10they've got him going back to the Colts, which is, which is interesting. So, um.
02:15the Colts are in a rough spot. I would say even rougher than the Texans. The Texans just have a young quarter.
02:20quarterback who had a bad playoff run. The Colts are trying to potentially run it back.
02:25if they do this with a guy who just busted his Achilles and was starting to play more.
02:30like we expected him to play even before the injury. So Tyler Linder.
02:35is the first name on this list that I look at and I go, that is a guy I would like on the Texans.
02:40Linder bomb is like interior offensive lineman in.
02:45general. Uh, people are like, that's where the Texans should be looking at.
02:50I'm thinking of and I, I went into last year saying, um, saying that.
02:55Hey, look, if the Texans can just get to average on the offensive line, that's a vast.
03:00improvement over what they were last year. And I feel like by and large, they did.
03:04I would, I would.
03:05caution because I've seen this from people that I do respect and I think smart people, but.
03:10I've seen people say, Hey, look at the improvement that they've made.
03:13You don't necessarily have to go looking.
03:15And for new guys, you just got to keep getting better with these guys.

03:21I think it's always a combination of coaching and actual.
03:25accountability.
03:26And I'm not saying that it has to be first round picks or marquee free agents or anything.
03:30But sometimes when it comes to just moving bodies, playing with physicality.
03:35Being good in one on one pass protection.
03:38There's a, there's a, some guys are just.
03:40naturally more able to do it.
03:41And those guys are out there in the marketplace.
03:44I would love.
03:45I'd love for them to just be aggressive and free agency and in the draft and continue to
03:49work on the fundamentals.
03:50And get to be better overall, but to think that, Hey, because we went from 30 seconds.
03:56Offensive line last year to 17th this year.
03:59Boy, if I draw that.
04:00On a graph, they're going to be the best offensive line in the league.
04:02Yeah.
04:03No, they got to have more talent on there.
04:04Yeah, they do.
04:05And Linderbaum would be an out of character signing for them.
04:08The only player they've signed.
04:10Outside of the building to a huge deal.
04:13And he'll get a huge deal.
04:14He's one of the best centers in football.
04:15According to the football, I could see him going to the giants and reuniting with John

04:20That would make a lot of sense.
04:23Like tippy top, near tippy top, me too, outside of the building was Daniil.
04:28You know, other than that, everybody's either been in that mid free agent or low free agent.
04:33I don't like the.
04:33The way that they've handled the center position, starting with in 2023, when you've got.
04:38I mean, the plan going into that year was to have a rookie offensive coordinator.
04:43Telling a rookie quarterback to take snaps from a rookie center and.
04:48I like it.
04:50And let's just hope for the best.
04:51Yeah, I think there is center.
04:53Center is one of those positions where they don't get paid as much.
04:56And I think sometimes people tend to think, oh, well.
04:58Yeah, you can find a center anywhere.
05:00No, it's.
05:01Yeah, a lot of the best centers are guys who are late draft.
05:03Like rookie free agents or late round picks or whatever.
05:06It doesn't mean that you can just go find.
05:08Any one of them out in the seventh round or off the scrap heap.
05:12It's just a different skill.
05:13It's a skill set.
05:14It's a combination of brains and physical.
05:18Talent and technique and everything else like that.
05:20So you don't need these guys that are freakishly big.
05:23Athletic guys like you might want to guard or tackle.
05:26But it doesn't mean that it's easy to find.
05:28The funniest thing about what.
05:28You just said and you're totally right is rookie head coach, rookie OC.
05:33Coaching a rookie quarterback to take snaps from a rookie center.
05:38That rookie center got hurt.
05:41So when he got hurt, they're like, who do we got?

06:05But I like where this list has the Texans.

06:11Running backs and interior offensive linemen.
06:13The three running backs that they've got the Texans mentioned as possible suitors.
06:18Kenneth Walker, who they have going to the Jets.
06:22Travis Etienne, who they have.
06:23They have going to the Seahawks and Javante Williams, who they have staying in.
06:28Dallas, those are all three guys who had really good seasons this year.
06:32I think they, and Kenneth Walker.
06:33Obviously, he's got a real big glow on him right now because he's come up so big in the playoffs.

06:45The thing about him that surprised me is that he's.

07:43I kind of really liked ETN that year and I, and I'm curious about how much.
07:48They, what they think of him now because ETN has been, he's one of those guys that we're
07:52depending on how it's been going for.
07:53the offense and who the offense coordinator is in and everything at times.
07:56It looks like, wow, he could be everything that they planned on.
07:58I'm being, and then there's other times where he's a relative non-factor.

08:08a couple friends of ours that cover the Texans and they said, boy, you know, go back.
08:13And look, D'Amico real big man of Kenneth Walker, he was talking about him more.
