00:00It's hit that 45, so yeah it's definitely at that level now. It is very hot, we're seeing
00:08similar temperatures around the riverina, 47 over in Hay, 45 in Tumont, 46 Griffith.
00:15It's very hot. But yeah, we're seeing, I guess it's also seeing that, like you said, mid
00:21to high 40s. So yeah, it's hot.
00:24And how are people staying cool there?
00:26Oh look, we've got plenty of people here down at Wagga Beach going for a bit of a swim.
00:31We were at the pool a bit earlier, lots of people having a bit of a swim around there.
00:36There was even, someone had an ice cream chuck at a truck mechanics this morning.
00:40So that was, I'm sure the employees had a good time having an ice cream this morning.
00:44We went down to the zoo, kind of had a bit of a chat.
00:47We talked with zookeeper Joshua Thompson.
00:49He talked a little bit about what they're doing to keep the animals cool.
00:55Our dingoes, I've put their dinners in the freezer, so they've kibble and that.
00:59I've put water in there and put it in the freezer, so when they get it this afternoon,
01:03they'll get an ice block that they can lick through and all that stuff.
01:06We'll give fresh water and ice to all the other animals and try and keep everyone cool.
01:11And Nicola, had there already been several days above 40 before today,
01:16and does it look like there are going to be several more?
01:20Yes, there has. This is not the first day that we've had an over 40 degree day.
01:25It's been like this for a lot of this week.
01:27And we're looking like that for a lot of the rest of the week, probably up until Sunday.
01:31It's going to get into the 30s here and a lot across the Riverina region as well.
01:35So yeah, we'll probably see our temperatures cool down a little bit more at the beginning of next week.
01:41But for now, it's 40 degree days.
