00:00Don't ever forget, Donald Trump is always watching.
00:04On Friday morning, without using specifics, the president tweeted that ESPN should, quote,
00:09apologize for untruth.
00:11Trump seems to be.
00:12No, he is referring to a controversy that's been brewing in right-wing media outlets and
00:17amplified by the White House.
00:18On Monday, SportsCenter co-host Jamel Hill wrote on Twitter that Donald Trump is a white
00:23supremacist who has largely surrounded himself with other white supremacists.
00:27While Hill has not deleted the offending tweet, she has released a statement saying that
00:32she apologizes for fostering the perception that she's speaking for her employer.
00:36ESPN has also said in a statement that the tweet crossed a line, but the network has not suspended
00:41her, and that has made conservatives and their media outlets unhappy.
00:45In her press briefing on Wednesday, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders called
00:50the tweet a fireball offense, which reportedly led to an ethics complaint filed by an anti-Trump
00:56super PAC.
00:56ESPN is paying a really big price for its politics and bad programming, Trump tweeted.
01:02People are dumping it in record numbers, all caps, huge record.
01:07In reality, while ESPN is losing subscribers, there's no evidence that it's connected to
01:12any left-wing bent-in coverage.
