00:00We have Major League Soccer partnering up here with Polymarket, and this is significant news
00:06because it's sort of, while it doesn't fully endorse prediction markets, I guess in some way,
00:11Dustin, it kind of does, right? Normalization of prediction markets and the leagues realizing
00:19that these are kind of here to stay, at least for the next few years. Either you get comfortable
00:26with them existing and you being involved and trying to do integrity monitoring and things
00:31like that, or you just sit it out, sit on the sidelines, or you can fight it. I think the
00:36NFL, what's really interesting is whether the NFL, NBA, and Major League Baseball get involved
00:42with this in any way. The NFL has definitely been laissez-faire. The NBA and Major League
00:46Baseball, you could at least imagine a world where they do a deal like this that's a marketing deal
00:50that also has protections in terms of integrity monitoring, and you can see this really heavily
00:54in the MLS language. They said that they're looking at integrity monitoring that allows
01:01them to do this. It also helps them because MLS is still a second or third-tier sport, quite
01:06obviously, in the United States, and they love to have more engagement from betting, trading,
01:11or whatever you want to call it. So yeah, this is only with Polymarket. The NHL deal was with
01:15both Calci and Polymarket. We'll see if MLS does other things. They didn't say this was necessarily
01:20exclusive, so we could see other prediction markets. But yeah, obviously, even in sports
01:27betting, we know that MLS is a pretty small part of the pie in terms of how much people bet on it.
01:31People bet far more on English Premier League, and obviously with the World Cup coming up here
01:37this summer, there's going to be a lot of interest in soccer this summer, and we'll see where it all
01:41goes. But pecking away at these deals, you just wonder whether MEA or MLB is next. Those are the
01:48big ones that these prediction markets would really like to have the rubber stamp from those leagues,
01:53that they're going to be involved with them, and that helps with them on the legitimacy front.
01:58So we'll see where this all goes. But MLS is the next step in that evolution.
