00:00We're looking at the Boston Red Sox.
00:03Now, just to recap who they brought in, we're talking about Sonny Gray,
00:08Wilson Contreras, or, yeah, Wilson Contreras.
00:11I was almost about to confuse him with his brother, William Contreras.
00:15Ranger Suarez and Yohan Oviedo.
00:18Now, we all saw the graphics late into the offseason,
00:21how the Red Sox were the one team that didn't bring in a free agent.
00:26And they finally did, but it's clear that Craig Breslow wants to,
00:30the GM of the Red Sox, Craig Breslow, wants to operate through traits,
00:35which makes sense, kind of.
00:38I want the Red Sox to spend.
00:40Their fans should want the front office to spend.
00:44But these moves in a vacuum, I really like bringing in Sonny Gray.
00:49I really like bringing in Contreras at first base.
00:51They actually did sign a big free agent in Ranger Suarez.
00:55And I said, as soon as they signed him, I love that fit.
00:59He is cold-blooded.
01:00And you need to be cold-blooded if you are going to succeed at Fenway Park
01:04in the matchups in the AL East.
01:07And while he doesn't throw 95 miles an hour, it's more 90 miles an hour.
01:11I've seen him carve through plenty of elite lineups, keeping guys off balance.
01:16So, overall, I thought it was a really solid offseason.
01:19Am I still wanting more a little bit?
01:23But it still cracks our top five.
01:26I like this comment here, and I want to build off faces.
01:28I disagree mainly because I think they should have spent the Ranger money on a bat.
01:32To me, this is where they're a move away from completing this offseason,
01:36and it's turning the now pitching surplus they have into that bat.
01:40So, to me, they're still a trade away from finishing this offseason.
01:44What that trade is, who knows?
01:45Maybe it's picking up Isak Paredes.
01:47That's, like, the most seamless fit.
01:49But the thing is, their rotation's in a great spot now.
01:53We can all agree that having Ranger as your two,
01:57Sonny Grazer three, with, of course, Garrett Crochet as your ace,
02:01that's a one-through-through we can all get behind.
02:03Johan Oviedo gives them more depth.
02:04I just think they have so much starting pitching depth now
02:09with Peyton Tolley coming along kindly early.
02:12It's like they need to make one more move.
02:13They need to make a big trade, get a bat, and then this offseason's complete.
02:19Wilson Contreras for Alex Bregman,
02:21I don't know if you consider that an even swap as far as offensively,
02:24but it still feels like they need one more move.
02:28It's still one of the best offseasons we've gotten.
02:31But I think that's almost, it's almost like a testament to the rest of the league
02:35and how so few teams have been active at the Red Sox crack this list
02:40because they're just missing that last piece for me.
02:42I want to bring in East Sox Paredes.
02:44I think he'd be a perfect fit on the Red Sox.
02:47He could play third base.
02:48He would hit a bunch of doubles off that green monster.
02:50He would also hit a bunch of home runs over the green monster.
02:54The thing is, I don't want to include a bat on the big league roster.
02:58I don't want it to be a Jaron Duran for Paredes trade centered around Paredes and others,
03:04but we have to give up Duran.
03:05I don't want to trade from this outfield in order to get said bat.
03:10So I think it'll be on Craig Breslow to figure out a way to bring in a Brendan Donovan and East Sox Paredes,
03:18one of these guys without trading from the outfield surplus.
03:22Because, of course, it's a problem in theory right now because where are you going to place them?
03:27But it's a great problem to have.
03:29You never know what's going to happen with injuries.
03:31I would greatly prefer the Red Sox do not trade from their big league talent right now.
03:36This is when they should be trading prospects in order to get bats to truly compete in the American League East this season.
03:42See, I don't think at this, you know, we've talked a long time about the Jaron Duran possibility.
03:47You can't trade Duran because right now you look at this lineup, there's a lot of potential.
03:53But, I mean, where would we even stack up Jaron Duran in this Red Sox lineup?
03:57Like, I know Roman Anthony is supposed to be the best hitter next season.
04:00But Jaron Duran, if I had to just bet on a guy to have the best WRC+,
04:05like, he's pretty high up on the list of this current Red Sox lineup.
04:09So you're right.
04:10They have to keep these guys.
04:11They have to keep the outfielders.
04:13It has to be a trade from that starting pitching surplus.
04:16Maybe it's Brian Baio that gets traded.
04:18Who knows?
04:19There's been some kind of rumblings about that.
04:21But they got to trade an arm to get a bat for this offseason to make sense.
04:24Because, like that commenter said, the Ranger Suarez money was theoretically supposed to go to a bat.
04:30I think they were smart realizing they weren't going to get Bo Bichette.
04:33So spend the money on the free agent you like the most.
04:35I'm okay with that strategy.
04:37But then now you've got to take this starting pitching surplus and turn it into an upgrade for this lineup.
04:43Because otherwise, I just think it's a team that doesn't fully fit.
04:48They just need one more move.
04:49Okay.
04:51So from that, let's take a moment out there.
04:52Say hello.
04:52All right.
04:53Say hello.
04:53That's很好 on.
04:54I just mentioned something weird.
04:54I'm on a map.
04:55I'm on a map here.
04:56I'm coming down.
04:56Right?
04:57I Joseph.
