00:00I'm standing here at the India Energy Week 2026 in Goa where day one has firmly placed India at
00:12the center of the global energy conversations. Opening the conference, Union Petroleum and
00:18Natural Gas Minister Mr. Hardeep Singh Puri said that India will be driving global energy demand
00:24up by 35% in the next 20 years, emphasizing India's growing role in the global energy
00:32landscape and transition. What are the three top priorities for India's Energy Transition
00:37Plan? The Minister stressed availability, affordability and sustainability, making it clear that the
00:45plan will be pragmatic and inclusive. Across sessions, technology and innovation
00:51has been front and center. One of the key discussions for today has been about repositioning natural
00:58gas, not as a bridge fuel, but as a destination fuel, which is going to support renewables while
01:04keeping the power grid stable.
01:12Hi, I'm Priyagra Singh from Indian Oil Corporation R&D Center. We are working on a pipeline inspection team.
01:19So this is a pipeline inspection, which is travel inside a pipe and gathers all the features,
01:26data and it creates almost an image of pipe from inside and outside. So while traveling inside
01:33a pipeline, it will travel, it can travel up to 300 kilometers independently through the product
01:40moment only. And through this sensor, it captures the data and stores into a data acquisition system. It is an on-board
01:51data acquisition system with battery. So would you say this is pre-maintainance, predictive maintenance? How will it help Indian Oil?
02:00It will create a predictive maintenance also. It will tell us where we have to repair the pipeline.
02:07It should not rupture. It should not get damage and everything. Plus, it will detect the pilferages,
02:14the theft condition of the pipelines. If somebody is stealing our product from the pipeline, it will detect and tell us.
02:21And for how long was this innovation in production? It is already in production. We are running almost
02:285,000 kilometers per year. And this is a 10-inch. We have a fleet of 10 to 30-inch. What we already
02:38manufactured in our center.
02:43What stands out from day one is a sense of momentum that India is not just merely adapting the global
02:54energy transition, but actually helping in shape it. From India Week 2026, this is Nishtha Sharma.
03:02Stay tuned for more insights from day two.
