00:12the council confirmed it will put up the price of a city centre parking space by an average of 11%.
00:17Steve Radford, leader of the Liberal Party group, has called for the decision to be reconsidered,
00:24arguing it could harm retail and hospitality jobs. It was confirmed last year, free parking
00:29after six in the evening would come to an end. The council says the increases keep Liverpool
00:34competitive with other cities and help address shortfalls in parking income.
00:39A committee meeting is expected to review the decision.
