00:01What is the least likely... who is the least likely to flub a line?
00:07Do you see the irony in that?
00:18I think everyone was a bit behind the eight pool with the improvisation.
00:23I love it when everyone stuffs up a line. It's fantastic.
00:28Because it just resets and gives everyone the confidence to try something different
00:35or re-approach the line in a completely different way.
00:39There wasn't many stuffing up lines.
00:41I remember one night when Red is being taken away by Charlie's character
00:49and I have little Orlando playing young Ned
00:52and Justin was yelling out to me to say a line to Charlie,
00:56don't you think you can bring your C-O-C-K over here ever again?
01:01I'm going, don't you think you can bring your C-O-C-K?
01:06Say the word!
01:08I'm trying to...
01:09We had this kid on set and you could only say, you know,
01:13poor Ollie was so wise at swearing.
01:17But, you know, we had to be very adult and I was trying to get Essie to say a word,
01:21but I tried to spell it out, what she should say, so she spelled it out in the scene.
01:27It was quite brilliant.
01:30But also those moments of resetting.
01:32One of my favourite moments in the film is when Russell's like, you know,
01:36you're becoming a man and he throws the boots and he just completely missed the wire.
01:40And Russell looked at me and said, you're going to use that, aren't you?
01:44And I went, yes, that's fantastic. I love the fact that you don't get it.
01:47What was exciting, but also kind of slightly daunting, was Justin's processes.
01:52I had a huge amount of research to do, like a lot of doing as well,
01:57in terms of spending time with horses, travelling, understanding the culture,
02:00be it via music, sort of a ton of Aussie punk music, books to read about the history,
02:08the colonial history, a lot of Aussie films, like Aussie humour, just like,
02:13be it like the sports, you know, three quarters of something.
02:15Well, they also made their own punk album.
02:17Yeah.
02:18Like to get the gang, like together, and to make them feel like a gang,
02:22they made a punk album in two weeks and played at this amazing kind of gig
02:27gig to an awesome amount of people and then the next day walked on set.
02:31And you could see this sort of gang of boys.
02:33So there's actually an album out there, about ten songs, two are in the film.
02:37And it was a really interesting kind of active, practical thing to get these
02:41kind of guys together as a tight unit.
