The National Maintenance Training and Security Company Limited says it has faced more than two years of delays in acquiring firearms for its precepted officers.

MTS, which provides security and elite security services, outlined the challenges during today's sitting of the Joint Select Committee of Parliament.

00:00We require a variation from the Firearms Department of DTPS to get more firearms because we are in need of firearms for our contracts.

00:26The other part of it is require additional firearm employee user certificates, which will go hand-in-hand with the new firearms, so it's twofold.
