00:05I mean, this guy sounds like somebody out of a monster movie here.
00:09He's teamed up with Scotty Scheffler going into the final pairing.
00:13I mean, tell me a little bit more about him.
00:15I know who Scotty Scheffler is, but tell me who Blades Brown is.
00:19Yeah, a monster indeed.
00:21An 18-year-old monster who shot a 60 on Friday.
00:25Really remarkable story.
00:26This guy debuted as a professional at the American Express last season as a 17-year-old.
00:33He missed the cut.
00:34He was playing on the Corn Ferry Tour earlier in the week in the Bahamas.
00:38Took a six-hour flight private jet into La Quinta, California.
00:43Arrives on Thursday.
00:44Shoots a 67.
00:45Backs it up with a 60 on Friday.
00:48And then off of, you know, such a low round on Friday.
00:52Came back pretty admirably on Saturday as well.
00:54I think it was a four-under round for him on Saturday.
00:57And here he is, finds himself, like you say, in the final pairing with Scotty Scheffler,
01:02the world number one in the world.
01:04And also, let's not forget Siwoo Kim, who's a guy that a lot of people really like to win
01:09this tournament, who also, let's not forget, is in the lead by a shot over Scheffler and Brown.
01:15But 18 years old.
01:16I saw the interview with him after the round, and he, you know, he had a chance to shoot 59.
01:21And he said, yeah, you know, the nerves got to me a little bit.
01:24I started thinking about it.
01:25But he goes, I'm so happy to have shot 60 on the PGA Tour.
01:29And who knows?
01:30Maybe we got the next Scotty Scheffler brewing here.
01:32But, you know, the American Express, Dan, is probably one of my least favorite tournaments on tour.
01:37You know, it's a pro-am.
01:39There's a bunch of different golf courses.
01:41We're kind of on the precipice of really getting into big boy golf at Torrey Pines and Pebble Beach
01:46and Phoenix and Riviera.
01:48And this is a little bit of a warm-up for me.
01:51But now we got a storyline here with Blades Brown, making it very entertaining.
01:56You know, I want to go to Scotty Scheffler.
01:58You know, we haven't seen a year like we did a year ago.
02:02You know, Byron Nelson, obviously, you know, Jack, Gary Player.
02:06Now you go into what Tiger did when he had the Tiger Slam.
02:10I mean, have you seen a guy that has been able to just dominate?
02:15I mean, I see him in the top five almost every single tournament.
02:19I mean, you put him in that category, don't you?
02:22I mean, Byron Nelson had one of the greatest years back in the day when he won all those championships.
02:27I think there were 11 of them that he won one season.
02:30You tell me.
02:30I mean, this is truly one of the greatest seasons we've ever seen was 2025.
02:36Do you expect the same in 26?
02:37What's to tell me I should say no?
02:41You know, I mean, it's just absolutely remarkable.
02:45A friend, Justin Ray, on Twitter mentioned, I believe, if Scotty goes on to win today,
02:49I think it'll be his 20th victory and three out of the four majors.
02:55And guess who are the only other two guys to do that by this age?
02:59Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods.
03:00I mean, every time you turn around on who's done what he's done before, it's Jack and Tiger.
03:06He's in that conversation.
03:08He is apparently at that level.
03:10Now, he's got to do it for another 10 or 12, 15 years to kind of, you know, be truly anointed in that same company.
03:18But he's absolutely on that trajectory.
03:21And the other thing, Dan, is he's so likable.
03:23You know, he just feels like a normal guy.
03:25And, you know, I really love him.
03:28He is sometimes it's a little bit boring because all he does is hit greens and hit fairway.
03:33He hardly ever makes a mistake.
03:34But, you know, I think he's really starting to become much more engaged and open up a little bit and show some personality and really become a likable figure.
03:46You know, Tiger, Jack, you know, Jack was like kind of the anti-Arnold Palmer.
03:51And Tiger came out with some swagger and some attitude and he didn't necessarily, I mean, it was kind of love or hate with Tiger and same with Jack.
03:58And now everybody, of course, appreciates them years later.
04:01But I think Scotty has never really had much enemy.
04:05You know, he's really kind of been a crowd favorite ever since he took the golf world by storm.
04:11I don't necessarily love his chances today.
04:14His irons haven't been firing.
04:16I think Siwoo could be the play.
04:18He's really probably playing the best out of the guys at the top of the leaderboard is Siwoo Kim.
04:24And he starts with a one-shot advantage as well.
04:27If I had to bet today, I've got JT Poston to start the week at 100 to 1.
04:32So I'm hoping he goes really low.
04:34Maybe he's got a 63 in his bag or something like that.
04:37But if I had to choose between Scotty and Blades Brown and Siwoo, I'd probably lean on Siwoo to get it home today.
