00:07:17Father, father, what is it?
00:07:19What's the matter?
00:07:20Howls, howls, this is the end, my son.
00:07:25Before I die, there's a great deal that I must tell you.
00:07:28You mustn't die. You mustn't die.
00:07:30Howls, listen to me.
00:07:34Once upon a time, we lived in a fishing village up north.
00:07:37It was a happy, peaceful little village until, until, until the day that dreadful beast appeared.
00:07:45What beast?
00:07:46There was an icy air about the creature, as though it had come from somewhere even colder than the North Pole.
00:07:53It hovered in the air a moment.
00:07:55Then it seemed intent on destroying our entire village.
00:07:58I knew then that the village was destroyed by Grunwald.
00:08:14You were a baby, Holtz.
00:08:16My only thought was to save you, to take you from the village, the village I thought cursed forever.
00:08:24Since that time, you and I have lived alone, all alone.
00:08:29But now I know I was wrong to take you away like that.
00:08:32I should have stayed and helped with the reconstruction.
00:08:37Return to the village, Holtz.
00:08:39Go back, son.
00:08:40Go back.
00:08:41Go back.
00:08:42Go back?
00:08:44Back to where, father?
00:08:45Where's the village?
00:08:47Follow your heart, son, and always travel due north.
00:08:51Be brave.
00:08:52Fight with all your strength and you'll have nothing to fear.
00:08:55I'm giving you my axe.
00:09:00Father?

00:13:16I won't harm you, holes.
00:13:19Quite the contrary. I've heard of your extraordinary skills.
00:13:22I'd like you to become my ward.
00:13:25Your ward?
00:13:26That's right.
00:13:27That's why I ordered the eagles to bring you here.
00:13:30You'll help control my domain.
00:13:32No, I won't. You'll burn down my people's village.
00:13:37So you've heard about that little escapade?
00:13:40Little escapade? You burn a village and you go...
00:13:42Holes? Your life is in my hands, hanging by a thread.
00:13:52The life of the whole world hangs from a thread in my hand.
00:13:58Holes?
00:13:59Will you be Grunwald's ward?
00:14:02Or his enemy?
00:14:03His enemy!
00:14:05Grunwald someday I'll...
00:14:06You'll what?
00:14:07What will you do, little boy?

00:15:38Look!
00:15:43Red hot iron is beautiful, isn't it!
00:15:49But hardened steel is more beautiful!
00:15:50And steel is more beautiful.
00:15:56Was this axe hardened too?
00:15:58Yep, just like this harpoon.
00:16:03It's that sword that saved you.
00:16:08Is the sword gonna be hardened?
00:16:10Mm-hmm.
00:16:11Feels hard enough.
00:16:20Well, feeling better now, boy?
00:16:23Yes, stronger.
00:16:24Mm-hmm.
00:16:25Well, if you're strong enough to lift that heavy sword,
00:16:28you're strong enough to lift a bowl of boiled fish.
00:16:31Sorry I can't offer more.
00:16:32Ordinarily, we have a good run of fish now,
00:16:34but this year, well...
00:16:37Don't worry.
00:16:38We'll have a big run soon.
00:16:41I hope so, Genko.
00:16:44Molas knows what he's doing.
00:16:46And there's nobody stronger than Molas, is there, Taiho?
00:16:50No, even so...
00:16:52He can get him, all right.
00:16:56Get who?
00:16:58A giant fish.
00:17:00It's the largest pike you've ever seen,
00:17:02and it's eating everything that swims.
00:17:04Everybody's trying to capture him.
00:17:06They will succeed.
00:17:08Mama! Grandpa!
00:17:12Black, what is it?
00:17:15Father's... he's dead.
00:17:20We're...

00:17:30Jeremy.

00:17:44Hok refrigerate.
00:17:45Okay.
00:17:47Flem, stop crying.
00:17:49I'm going to capture you with that pike, I promise.
00:18:00Didn't I tell you we should leave that pike alone, Chief?
00:18:02It's jinxed, I tell you, jinxed!
00:18:04It was sent here by the devil.
00:18:06Mess with him and we'll offer you whiteout!
00:18:08Will you mean we ignore it?
00:18:10I tell you, that pike is so big
00:18:12I saw him pick up Mollus right in his jaws.
00:18:14Then he spit him out like Mollus was just a dry piece of bait.
00:18:18Why, he even eats birds and animals!
00:18:20If he doesn't stop this whole village, he's going to starve!
00:18:23That's what's going to happen, let's get revenge!
00:18:26The Mollus man revenge!
00:18:29Take me with you, take me with you!
00:18:31I want revenge too!
00:18:33No, don't go.
00:18:38Think of Mollus, there must be a better way.
00:18:41Don't you jeopardize your lives, as he did!
00:18:50Tiah holds perfectly right, you know!
00:18:52What Mollus did was thoughtless!
00:18:54With all due respect for his memory,
00:18:57Mollus should have been more thoughtful of his family!
00:19:00And what did you expect him to do, let them starve?
00:19:02Stop it, both of you!
00:19:03With all the bickering and all the squabbling and babbling,
00:19:07Cough leaps daddy back!
00:19:12Let no man go alone from this time forward.
00:19:14Instead, if lives must be risked, let us risk them together,
00:19:18as a people.
00:19:37Men, isn't one of you as brave as Mollus?
00:19:50Cowards!
00:19:51I guess you won't be needing these then, will you?
00:20:07Villains!
00:20:10Ah!
00:20:17Ha!
00:20:37Let's go.
00:21:07I got him.

00:22:07I got him.
00:22:37I got him.
00:22:44I see.
00:22:49No, you didn't.
00:23:02You couldn't have killed him.
00:23:04Are you sure, Holtz?
00:23:07Are you sure you got that pike?
00:23:09No, you didn't.
00:23:11You didn't get him.
00:23:13You didn't.
00:23:14You didn't.
00:23:15But I'll get that fish.
00:23:23I'll get that fish.
00:23:25Soon as I grow up big and strong, I have to get him for daddy.
00:23:30I'm sorry.
00:23:36I...
00:23:37I...
00:23:38Hey!

00:24:19I'm the son of the chief.
00:24:20Part of the sun is going to set.

00:25:41Get that thief!
00:25:42Get that thief!
00:25:43Coral!
00:25:44Coral!
00:25:45You say he's alive?
00:25:57And he's killed my pike.
00:26:00The beautiful pike I sent to starve the village.
00:26:04Weren't you with him?
00:26:07Doesn't matter.
00:26:09There are other ways to get those who resist Grunwald.
00:26:14Wait.
00:26:15Since it was you who failed to guard the giant fish, you take over the role of destruction.
00:26:24But be careful.
00:26:26The boy Holes must be destroyed before he grows too strong.
00:26:31On his destruction lies the safety of Grunwald.
00:26:39The same silver wolf?
00:26:41Yes.
00:26:42One of Grunwald's for sure.
00:26:44Boy!
00:26:45Holes, do you think he's after our village?
00:26:48Yes.
00:26:49But don't worry.
00:26:50Grunwald can be defeated.
00:26:53Ha!
00:26:54Holes!
00:26:55Holes!
00:26:56Holes!
00:26:57Holes!
00:26:58My mother wants to give you a present.
00:27:00Look!
00:27:01They belong to my husband.
00:27:03Holes!
00:27:04Hey, Holes!
00:27:05Holes!
00:27:06Holes!
00:27:07Hey, Holes!
00:27:08Holes, can you play with us, please?
00:27:09Huh?
00:27:22Look at him!
00:27:23Holes!
00:27:24Holes!
00:27:25There he is, everyone!
00:27:26Listen, everyone!
00:27:27In honor of all, let's dance!
00:27:28The Heroes Camp!
00:27:29The Heroes Camp!
00:27:30The Heroes Camp!
00:28:00Look at the big hero, Chief!
00:28:03The way he's carrying on, somebody would think that he was the chief!
00:28:08And why?
00:28:09Because he killed the pike?
00:28:11Has anybody seen proof of the pudding?
00:28:14But we had a large run of fish!
00:28:16Ah!
00:28:17That's the point, Chief!
00:28:18The boy's a stranger!
00:28:20How do we know it isn't so trick?
00:28:22How do we know that we're not all just being fooled?
00:28:25I wonder...
00:28:37Hey!
00:28:42Hey, I know you!
00:28:43You're the same rabbit I almost caught before!
00:28:46Wait!
00:28:47Wait, you pesky rabbit!
00:28:48Hey, Robert!
00:28:55Silver wolves!
00:28:56Silver wolves!
00:28:57Silver wolves!
00:28:58Silver wolves coming!
00:29:18Hey!
00:29:19My barn!
00:29:20That's my barn you're destroying!
00:29:21We have to make a barricade, Father!
00:29:22No!
00:29:23No!
00:29:24My barn!
00:29:25My beautiful barn!
00:29:26No!

00:29:51Oh!
00:29:52Oh!
00:29:53Oh!
00:29:54Oh!
00:29:55Oh!
00:29:56Oh!
00:29:57Oh!
00:29:58Oh!
00:29:59Oh!
00:30:00Oh!
00:30:01Oh!
00:30:02Oh!
00:30:03Oh!
00:30:04Oh!
00:30:05Oh!

00:30:12Oh!
00:30:13Oh!
00:30:14Oh!
00:30:15Oh!
00:30:16Oh, my God.
00:30:46We've lost them coral wait what's that
00:31:16You don't know what I really mean
00:32:16Who are you?
00:32:30Do you live in this village?
00:32:36Who are you?
00:32:39Hulse.
00:32:40I live in another village.
00:32:42You do?
00:32:45Mm-hmm.
00:32:46I can't live in any village.
00:32:51No village will take me in.
00:32:55Why not?
00:32:59Because my village was ruined by the monster.
00:33:04Yes, and I was the only survivor.
00:33:08Ever since that day, I've lived under the monster's spell.
00:33:11Don't look blue.
00:33:17I'm alone, but not lonely.
00:33:23I sing and stay happy.
00:33:27What is your name?
00:33:28My friend, Chirro.
00:33:36And this is another little friend of mine.
00:33:39Tata.
00:33:39I am called by the name Hilda.
00:33:45Hilda, the singing girl.
00:33:47Pee-doo, pee-doo, pee-doo, pee-doo-loo-loo, sings the lonely bird.
00:33:53If I could fly that high, then I'm very sure that I would sing the gayest melody you've ever heard.
00:34:03I'd sing just like a bird.
00:34:06Woo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo.
00:34:10Woo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo.
00:34:12Your village was destroyed, just as mine was.
00:34:35I think you're lonely, just as I was.
00:34:40You too?
00:34:42Why, then, I think that we two are twins, Hilda Holtz.
00:34:46I'm sure of it. We're twins.
00:34:50Say, come to my village.
00:34:53The people are very kind. You'll be welcome there.
00:34:55You can sing, and they'll all applaud.
00:34:58Will you come, Hilda?
00:35:00Well, I'd like to go if they'd permit it.
00:35:04I love to sing because my heart's full.
00:35:08Your singing is the best I ever heard, Hilda.
00:35:11Don't you agree, Ichiro?
00:35:14Although it's sad, Tata.
00:35:16Let's go!
00:35:17He brought in a girl?
00:35:37He's got no right to do that.
00:35:40He's also the one who gave me the idea of tearing down my barn.
00:35:43What nerve?
00:35:44This thing has gone too far.
00:35:46You've got to begin drawing the line somewhere.
00:35:49After all, you are the chief, and I am Drago, your deputy.
00:35:52Once upon a time, God said to the world,
00:36:00Who will take this child to heart
00:36:04And love her as his own?
00:36:09We cannot, said the fish,
00:36:13For we've many miles to swim
00:36:18And our own children hardly have grown
00:36:26Once upon a time, God said to the world,
00:36:38Who will take this child to heart
00:36:42Who will take this child to heart
00:36:42And love her as his own?
00:36:48We cannot, said the birds,
00:36:52Yes, lovely voice.
00:36:56Oh, she is a good singer, chief.
00:36:59And she knows not the path
00:37:02We have to know
00:37:05Once upon a time, God said to the world,
00:37:16Who will take this child to heart
00:37:21And love her as his own?
00:37:26We cannot, said the farmers,
00:37:31For we'll carry what we need
00:37:32Hey, what's wrong?
00:37:33Where are you going?
00:37:37And our wells are as dry
00:37:41As the foe
00:37:44Ah, bulldog!
00:37:46Adam, why should we labor?
00:37:48Look, Hilda sings,
00:37:50And then everyone starts to disappear on us.
00:37:52Why should the two of us have to labor alone?
00:37:54I'm leaving.
00:37:56I will take this child to heart
00:38:00And love her as my own
00:38:04Better to be sent to me
00:38:09Never more to roam
00:38:14Than to live in the wood
00:38:19All alone
00:38:23I have an idea
00:38:25I can make use of her
00:38:28Yes, Torego, you can make use of her
00:38:33To bring about your own destruction
00:38:34Oh, I'm getting sick of it, Grandpa
00:38:47Whenever Hilda sings, they all stop their work
00:38:50To go over and listen to her
00:38:53All except holes
00:38:54There's a limit to what one boy can do alone
00:38:58And holes is one boy
00:38:59You are with him
00:39:01Nobody seems to be worried
00:39:04What if the monster should come to the village again?
00:39:07I wonder about you, Potom
00:39:09What about you?
00:39:11Are you going to become a loser to her, too?
00:39:14Huh?
00:39:14He's with Grandpa
00:39:26They're back
00:39:28Wolves
00:39:28Silver wolves
00:39:29They're lurking in the woods
00:39:31It's time to work on my sword
00:39:33Hud snip
00:39:35First up
00:39:36She's gonna cook
00:39:38Let's go
00:39:41– Let's go
00:39:42– Bat
00:40:03– Some more
00:40:03Two bad holes, but we have to get it hardened.
00:40:24Hello, may I see what you've been doing, Holtz?
00:40:29Is that the sword?
00:40:33Huh?
00:40:37Hilda?
00:40:40It's...
00:40:43It's nothing.
00:40:44Ah!
00:41:02Better now?
00:41:03Yes, much.
00:41:08But why?
00:41:10Because you're tired.
00:41:12It seems anywhere you go, you have the same problem, Hilda.
00:41:16Holtz.
00:41:17You all right?
00:41:20I thought you'd faint.
00:41:23No, I'm all right.
00:41:25Well, all right then, if you are.
00:41:29I've given up on hardening the sword.
00:41:32But I have this hatchet.
00:41:36Father gave it to me, and I'm going to use it against the monster.
00:41:40No use.
00:41:41You won't stand a chance with that axe, and that sword won't help you either.
00:41:46Hilda.
00:41:53Sword of the sun?
00:41:55Hilda's not afraid of it.
00:41:57Remember, Hilda is my sister.
00:41:59I understand, Grunwald.
00:42:02Ta-ta.
00:42:03Fly back to Hilda.
00:42:05Tell her to drive holes into a corner.
00:42:07My sword will be waiting.
00:42:11Now, go!
00:42:11Hilda, how do you like our village, Hilda?
00:42:32Wait, Hilda, wait.
00:42:34I want you to do me a favor.
00:42:36I'd like you to work with me for the benefit of the village.
00:42:39Will you do it?
00:42:39Work for its benefit with you?
00:42:45No, I'm serious.
00:42:48You know, the chief is getting too old.
00:42:50He can't think clearly anymore, and Potom's too young.
00:42:54Well, what about holes?
00:42:55Holes?
00:42:56He's dangerous.
00:42:57And that means that the only one who can be trusted with any responsibility around here is Drago.
00:43:02That's me.
00:43:03I'm the deputy.
00:43:05I need you to sing, Hilda.
00:43:06I need you to sing so I can make them follow me.
00:43:10Get that?
00:43:12Something about your singing so completely hypnotizing.
00:43:18All right.
00:43:20I'll sing for you.
00:43:22I'll sing for you, Drago.
00:43:24Hilda!
00:43:29Hilda!
00:43:30Want to see something beautiful?
00:43:31All right, Mownie.
00:43:33Uh-huh.
00:43:34Ah-huh.
00:43:34There. Isn't that nice?
00:43:42Wouldn't you like to wear it?
00:43:46Come.
00:43:49Come.
00:43:51Come.
00:43:53Come.
00:43:55Come.
00:43:57Come.
00:43:59Come.
00:44:01Come.
00:44:03Come.
00:44:04You help the bride embroider her dress, too.
00:44:07That's the custom.
00:44:09Hilda?
00:44:13That's better.
00:44:14Sooner or later, it's going to be your turn to get married.
00:44:17Then we're all going to help you with your dress, too.
00:44:20Look, Pelia.
00:44:21Oh, my.
00:44:22Someday Hilda's going to make a beautiful bride just like Pelia now.
00:44:25Her fiancé?
00:44:27Oh, that would be Hulse, huh?
00:44:30Oh.
00:44:34Look, look.
00:44:35Hilda doesn't know how to use the needle.
00:44:38Don't dignify that by answering her.
00:44:41Come. I'll show you the way.
00:44:45Why would anybody want to have such a dress?
00:44:47Oh.
00:44:50It's awful.
00:44:52It can catch fire and burn and turn into hot smoldering ashes.
00:44:55Take it off.
00:44:56Hilda.
00:44:57I don't know how to use the needle, but there's a lot more that I can do.
00:45:15May the red sun, a symbol of Pelia's heart and Luson's heart, shine its warmth on their love forever.
00:45:31Yay!
00:45:32Hilda!
00:45:33Luson was a single man, till he found his rising sun.
00:45:40Now he's joined the master clan, and the two hearts beat as one.
00:45:46Love, love, will not ever let their clans cease.
00:45:52Sing, sing, joy forever, sing of last in peace.
00:45:57One, two, or three, and four, and five, and six, and seven.
00:46:00True folks like what Rupus and perhaps one or two.
00:46:03Maybe they'll have eight or nine or two, perhaps eleven.
00:46:06Boy, I hope so well, her blood's appointment to sing.
00:46:08Come on, Hilda.
00:46:09Luson was a single woman, till she found her rising sun.
00:46:14Now she's joined the master clan, and the two hearts beat as one.
00:46:18Hilda, sing!
00:46:19Why don't you sing, Hilda?
00:46:20Love, love, will not ever let their pleasure cease.
00:46:25Sing, sing, joy forever.
00:46:28Sing a lasting peace.
00:46:46We're going to be late for the wedding.
00:46:48How unlucky we are.
00:46:50First we lose the silver wolves,
00:46:52and then we lose that on the wedding feast.
00:46:56After him!
00:47:04Hulse, your axe disappeared!
00:47:06Huh?
00:47:18Hey.
00:47:20Hey.
00:47:21Hi.
00:47:26Hey.
00:47:27Hey.
00:47:28Hey.
00:47:30Hey.
00:47:31Hey.
00:47:32Hey.
00:47:34Oh!
00:47:35Get over there!
00:47:36Get over there!
00:47:37Get over there!
00:47:38Help!
00:47:39Help!
00:47:46Help!
00:48:01Help!
00:48:02We must hurry!
00:48:32Pilia... Pilia...
00:48:41Lucerne, I feel all right.
00:48:45I think... I think I just need to rest in our new house.
00:49:02What happened?
00:49:10We were attacked by a horde of rats.
00:49:12Rats?
00:49:14Aha!
00:49:16So they've done it once more.
00:49:18Those silver wolves.
00:49:20Silver wolves?
00:49:22Isn't that strange?
00:49:24Only you saw silver wolves.
00:49:26Only you were present when you said you finished the giant pike.
00:49:29Only you were absent when a horde of rats overrun our village.
00:49:32That is strange.
00:49:34Isn't it?
00:49:37When the monster burned my own village,
00:49:39one person was absent at that time as well.
00:49:42I wonder why.
00:49:44Hilda...
00:49:50The girl is right.
00:49:52Why, since that boy arrived in this village,
00:49:55the strangest happenings have managed to occur every day.
00:49:59Good work, Hilda.
00:50:03We'll be rid of holes before you know it.
00:50:06Wasn't that a bit of good fortune?
00:50:08I mean to say...
00:50:10Those rats...
00:50:11Coming just where they did.
00:50:14And they were in place.
00:50:15It was in place.
00:50:16You sat and you filled it out.
00:50:17The first rat...
00:50:18Worse...
00:50:19..the chest and you're in place.
00:50:20It's the only person who you belong to.
00:50:21The one who got to have a heart...
00:50:22The laughter...
00:50:23The next rat...
00:50:24The crotch...
00:50:25Ah, hatchet.
00:50:31Holes, hatchet.
00:50:33Thank you, Hilda.
00:50:55This is the cat.
00:50:58There's a cat, the system loves.
00:51:01Round, round, round, round,
00:51:04as the rooftops of the house.
00:51:07Round, round, round, round,
00:51:09falling, falling,
00:51:11falling down.
00:51:13Now the dog believes the cat,
00:51:15Oh, Hilda!
00:51:16Hilda, Hilda, Hilda!
00:51:19Hilda, Hilda!
00:51:22Sing and join us.
00:51:24Come on, Hilda, come.
00:51:27Play with us.
00:51:37Now the hiders take their hounds.
00:51:40Round, round, round, round.
00:51:42Hunt the bull and shoot them down.
00:51:44Round, round, round, round.
00:51:47Falling, falling.
00:51:49Look! Hey!
00:51:52Wait for us.
00:51:54We're coming with you.
00:51:56Hilda, you too.
00:51:57You go with us.
00:51:59Come on, Hilda.
00:52:16I'll show you.
00:52:20See how?
00:52:23You'll never learn.
00:52:27Say, sing a song.
00:52:29A song for me.
00:52:31What?
00:52:32Sing that song you always sing.
00:52:34The one that's so pretty.
00:52:37Yes.
00:52:38All right.
00:52:41There once was...
00:52:45No, I can't.
00:52:47I'm sorry, little Mownie.
00:52:48I'm just not in the mood to sing anything.
00:52:57Mownie.
00:52:58Mownie.
00:53:05Well done, Hilda.
00:53:06Now you can finish off the whole lot of them.
00:53:10Grunwald is tired of waiting.
00:53:11He says that you're to finish them all off right now.
00:53:15Right now.
00:53:20The poor little thing.
00:53:22See how she rests her head.
00:53:24Soon she's going to rest it forever.
00:53:26No.
00:53:28We're going to have to spare this child.
00:53:31Eh?
00:53:33I won't harm her.
00:53:36So you want to spare Mownie.
00:53:38Hmm.
00:53:39And just what would that accomplish?
00:53:42Why, you'd only be fooling yourself.
00:53:45You'd be sad.
00:53:46Zero.
00:53:47But then you would never be able to cry.
00:53:49Enough!
00:53:51Hilda.
00:53:52Why shouldn't you go with the villagers?
00:53:55Gather flowers.
00:53:56Have a nice dress to embroider.
00:53:58And one day...
00:54:00Even marriage!
00:54:01I said that's enough.
00:54:02Man is mortal.
00:54:03But Hilda can live forever with Grunwald's Medal of Life.
00:54:07That's better than marriage, I say.
00:54:10Why, there isn't a person in the village
00:54:12that wouldn't trade his happiness for a chance like Hilda's
00:54:15to live forever?
00:54:17Are you afraid to die, Hilda?
00:54:20Would you destroy Mownie and Halls in order to live?
00:54:24Quiet, Cheryl!
00:54:34I'm Grunwald's sister.
00:54:36I'm not a mortal girl like Pelia.
00:54:38I can never marry a human being.
00:54:40They are my enemies.
00:54:42I must stamp them out.
00:54:43Words!
00:54:44Just words!
00:54:45That's not what you really think at all!
00:54:48No!
00:54:49I'm a monster, Chiro.
00:54:51A girl monster.
00:54:53Grunwald's sister.
00:54:55Why, Hilda!
00:54:57Chiro!
00:54:58I told you to hold your tongue.
00:55:01I told you to stay silent.
00:55:03You wouldn't listen, would you?
00:55:05Well, now I'm going to teach you a lesson you'll never forget!
00:55:07No!
00:55:08Chiro!
00:55:09I'm sorry!
00:55:10I'll never do it again!
00:55:11Chiro!
00:55:12Chiro!
00:55:13Chiro!
00:55:14Chiro!
00:55:15Chiro!
00:55:16Chiro!
00:55:21I'm alone, but never lonely.
00:55:26I don't smile, but I'm not sad.
00:55:33I have pleasant dreams were only the kinds of dreams I've ever had.
00:55:50I'm alone, but never lonesome.
00:55:57I don't laugh, but I'm content.
00:56:04As for joy, I guess I've known some, but to know profound extent.
00:56:27Why did you stop singing?
00:56:40What's troubling you?
00:56:42Go away.
00:56:44I know what it is.
00:56:46You're lonely, right?
00:56:48Wrong holes.
00:56:49You don't know a thing about it.
00:56:51Please go away.
00:56:54We're still friends, Hilda.
00:56:55You can say whatever's on your mind.
00:56:58Like what?
00:57:00Shall I confess to you that I have no choice but to guess you someday?
00:57:05I don't follow.
00:57:06You mean get rid of me?
00:57:08That's exactly what I mean.
00:57:10You and the others as well.
00:57:11Now you know.
00:57:12Hilda.
00:57:18Curses.
00:57:20I missed him.
00:57:21Holes?
00:57:27Holes.
00:57:29What is this?
00:57:31Holes?
00:57:33How dare you do this to me?
00:57:36This is your hatchet, isn't it?
00:57:39Huh?
00:57:40Where did you men find it?
00:57:42It was thrown at father by someone bad.
00:57:44What's your excuse?
00:57:48I lost my hatchet in the woods yesterday.
00:57:50You lost it in the woods, you said.
00:57:52Yes, I did.
00:57:53While I was chasing the silver wolves.
00:57:55Quiet!
00:57:56You're the only one who sees those wolves and you admit this hatchet is yours.
00:58:00While somebody threw this hatchet at me just now, Holes.
00:58:03You...
00:58:03You keep talking about a monster.
00:58:07I say there's a monster all right and it's you.
00:58:12Prove it.
00:58:15That hatchet is proof enough.
00:58:17Can you prove I didn't throw that hatchet?
00:58:20No, but...
00:58:21In fact, anybody could have thrown it.
00:58:23He's right, Pop.
00:58:24It wasn't Holes.
00:58:25I was with Hilda.
00:58:27Ask her.
00:58:28We came back just a moment ago.
00:58:31I'm not the guilty party.
00:58:34Hilda says she wasn't with you.
00:58:36Ask her.
00:58:37She's standing right behind.
00:58:41Hilda.
00:58:54Now I know.
00:58:55The guilty party.
00:58:56Hilda.
00:58:57No.
00:58:58The guilty party is somebody else, not Hilda.
00:59:00We're being fooled.
00:59:02Hilda is innocent.
00:59:05Hilda.
00:59:05Hilda.
00:59:06Why'd you say...
00:59:07Hilda.
00:59:08Watch out.
00:59:10Hilda.
00:59:17Did you see that?
00:59:18Did you see what that young monster just tried to do?
00:59:21Tried to kill that beautiful girl.
00:59:24Yes, and why?
00:59:25To save himself.
00:59:26Wake up.
00:59:27Wake up.
00:59:28Let's drive that monster away.
00:59:30Don't you call him a monster away from me.
00:59:34Coral, don't.
00:59:37Stop that.
00:59:37Who threw that rock?
00:59:38Stop.
00:59:38Who threw it?
00:59:39Did you?
00:59:40Get away.
00:59:41Get away.
00:59:42Holes, leave.
00:59:44Holes is innocent.
00:59:45He's innocent.
00:59:46Go away, stranger.
00:59:48You shouldn't have come here in the first place.
00:59:50Yeah.
00:59:51Go back where you came from.
00:59:52Everything was fine till you got here.
00:59:55Why?
00:59:56Look, he's getting away.
00:59:58I'm not leaving yet.
01:00:03I'll be back here soon.
01:00:04And I'll prove to you then who the monster really is.
01:00:15Wait, Holes.
01:00:16You can't get him without the sword of his son.
01:00:19Holes.
01:00:20Holes.
01:00:21Holes, where are you going?
01:00:36I'm going to fight the monster.
01:00:38I know who the monster is.
01:00:40You would deal with Hilda first if you really knew.
01:00:42Holes, you are so innocent.
01:00:51The girl who's singing you enjoy so is your mortal enemy, Holes.
01:00:54What do you mean?
01:00:56You are only human after all.
01:00:58Like that mean Drago.
01:01:01It is he who has deceived you.
01:01:03And he is no different from the uncertain chief and double-dealing people you came from, Holes.
01:01:07Ah, I don't understand.
01:01:11What is it you mean?
01:01:14I'll tell you what she cannot.
01:01:17Hilda works the earth in human form.
01:01:19But Hilda is not human.
01:01:20Hilda is Bunwall's sister.
01:01:25Time you lost your hatchet.
01:01:26The attack of the village chief.
01:01:28The strange appearance of the rats and the silver wolves.
01:01:31These were all brought about by Hilda.
01:01:33Sister of the Frost King to destroy man.
01:01:36Now do you understand?
01:01:38Get away!
01:01:39Hilda, deny it!
01:01:40Say it isn't true!
01:01:45He speaks the truth.
01:01:47Now you'll find out what I really am.
01:02:04You're Parrish.
01:02:05On this the very day you were betrayed by man.
01:02:10No!
01:02:11You are not a monster!
01:02:13You can be as kind and human as anyone in the village.
01:02:16I don't want to be kind or human.
01:02:19Then you're fooling yourself.
01:02:20Or else you're being fooled.
01:02:22Sing your song again, Hilda.
01:02:23Sing it.
01:02:25Don't listen to him, Hilda.
01:02:26He's trying to find our weakness.
01:02:28Ew, you cursed human!
01:02:30And now, Hilda!
01:02:31That was well done, Hilda.
01:02:54I say it's a shame.
01:03:01Shame on you.
01:03:03I hate you for what you've done.
01:03:05I just hate you.
01:03:10Jiro.
01:03:14Goodbye, Hilda.
01:03:15I will not be seeing you at Grumwald again, ever.
01:03:22Where are you going?
01:03:24To live with man.
01:03:26Even if you and Grumwald decide to destroy me, too.
01:03:29I want to be with the people.
01:03:31They know how to be kind.
01:03:33Goodbye, Hilda.
01:03:34Oh, Jiro.
01:03:51Grumwald, good news.
01:03:53Holtz fell off a cliff into the Lost Woods.
01:03:55Fine.
01:03:58Even if he survives, the Lost Woods are endless.
01:04:01He'll never get out.
01:04:02You're to be commended.
01:04:05Hilda, you can be human.
01:04:08You can be kind.
01:04:10Try.
01:04:11Try hard.
01:04:13You can break Grumwald's hold on you.
01:04:16Break his hold forever.
01:04:20I'd like to see the look on his face now.
01:04:24What are you laughing about?
01:04:25What's that?
01:04:27Holtz isn't gone.
01:04:28He'll be back.
01:04:29This holds or another.
01:04:33Nonsense.
01:04:34It's true.
01:04:35And the day will arrive when the villagers will believe him.
01:04:38And each other.
01:04:40Quiet!
01:04:41The day will arrive when I'm going to destroy every last one of them.
01:04:44Now go, Hilda.
01:04:45Go to the Lost Woods and finish the job.
01:04:48I cannot.
01:04:49You must.
01:04:50I'll leave here.
01:04:53I'll leave you forever.
01:04:55I'll go far to the north and live by the frozen lake.
01:05:01Very well.
01:05:02But I think you have no idea of what's in store for you.
01:05:06Perhaps I'd better show you.
01:05:08You see, that's how it's going to end.
01:05:24Is that what you want?
01:05:27Hilda, go and finish Holtz.
01:05:31For your own sake.
01:05:33Someone is calling me Someone lonely is calling me
01:05:46Come, little Hilda
01:05:51With no song
01:05:54Hilda

01:06:22That's Gunwald.
01:06:23The one Holtz warned us about.
01:06:25Don't be frightened.
