We asked people on the streets in the North East what their experiences are of using the NHS in the region, and what they see as its biggest challenges.
Transcript
00:00I feel like there needs to be definitely more funding placed in the North East because there's always been sort of a deficit there.
00:06So I think, yeah, funding, maybe more access to like online services, like online appointments,
00:13just to make it easier for people who can't necessarily like leave their houses to get access to health care.
00:18From a personal perspective, I've had two children born at Cramlington Hospital and the NHF have been absolutely fantastic.
00:24The first one of those was in COVID, so obviously it was difficult because once you were in there,
00:27you couldn't go out of the room and I was stuck in there for three days, but the staff were fantastic.
00:33As a whole, it's under-resourced, but credit to the people that work there, they do a fantastic job.
00:39Local councillors around here don't necessarily have the most funding in the first place,
00:42so therefore they can't really allocate enough to funding health services or like mental health services or whatever.
00:48So I feel like definitely in the North East, there's always been sort of less emphasis on putting funding here
00:56and therefore you can't really get the health care that people need.
