Many of our high streets are struggling. Some suggest filling empty units in town centres with NHS services. We ask members of the public how they feel about this.

00:00For older people, getting public transport and getting around places isn't ideal for them.

00:05Your small family doctors and stuff like that, they should be in housing estates, they should be where people live.

00:10You shouldn't have to be commuting mad distances trying to find parking, trying to get public transport and all that,

00:16all just so you can see a doctor.

00:17Because at the end of the day, if you're trying to see a doctor, you're probably not in the best physical state, you know what I mean?

00:21And then they're saying, oh, well, we're going to put it in the busiest place of where you live, so you have to deal with all of this.

00:26I think if they want to fill warehouses and stuff, just make policies that attract businesses in rural towns and in rural centres,

00:34instead of just trying to fill the gaps with other things that are not as convenient.

00:38I think they want to sort out paying them right first.

00:40You know, you hear about nurses going and doctors going on strike and all that,

00:44sort out all that first before you run about other plans.

00:47Make sure the system works like you've got in place already before you want to start changing it,

00:52putting all your money into doing it a different way.

00:54Make sure they're paid right, make sure they want to do their job.

00:57Because if you're not paying them right, then what's the point in putting them anywhere?
