00:00St. Vincent and the Grenadines came away with a 2-0 win against Grenada at the Atterboulland Stadium
00:06as both the teams prepare for the CONCACAF Under-20 qualifiers.
00:11It's an important win for St. Vincent and the Grenadines after their opening 6-0 defeat to TNT.
00:17Their coach, Ezra Hendrickson, described the last evening's victory as a moral-boosting win.
00:22You know, we lost that game on Monday 6-0.
00:25We had some off-the-field issues that really I thought hurt us on the pitch.
00:28We missed the PK only in that game.
00:31That could have really changed the game because, you know, they say goals change games.
00:34But, you know, it's something that can build confidence.
00:38You know, you don't want to be losing every game.
00:40So winning tonight helps us, especially after such a terrible defeat on Monday.
00:45He believes that TNT is further ahead with their training preparations as his team is not at full strength.
00:50Well, I think Trinidad is far more advanced as far as in their preparation than we are.
00:56I know for a fact we are, and possibly Grenada.
00:58I can't speak for Grenada because I don't know what they've been doing.
01:01But I know we're not as far in advance as they are.
01:04We don't have our foreign players in as yet.
01:06You know, we have our local players that are still on tryouts.
01:10And so it's still a competitive situation for us amongst the players.
01:13And sometimes, you know, players, sometimes, you know, that's an obstacle.
01:18You know, when they know that they're competing against the guys next to them,
01:21sometimes it's not as smoothly as when you have your full squad and you know that's the squad that's going to go into the competition.
01:27So what are your objectives for the CONCACAF under 20 qualifiers?
01:30How far would you like to reach?
01:32Well, we would like to get out of that tournament.
01:34You know, we're in a very tough group.
01:35We have the likes of Haiti, Curaçao, Guyana, Anguilla, you know, so it's not going to be easy for us.
01:42But we think, you know, within the next two, three weeks before the tournament starts, we'll be prepared.
01:49The 32-team tournament will take place from February 23rd to March 4th, 2026,
01:54across three venues in Central America and the Caribbean.
01:58TNT has been grouped with Costa Rica, Bermuda, Barbados and St. Martin.
02:03Sergio Dufour, TV6 Sport.
