00:03:06Bakers, welcome to the Great American Baking Show Holiday Special.
00:03:11These two days will be filled with baking, merriment, and some good old-fashioned holiday stress.
00:03:16I'm Andrew Rannells and this is Casey Wilson and we are the carolers that you
00:03:21didn't ask for and these two elves on a shelf are your judges it's Paul
00:03:26Hollywood and Prue Leap hi Paul hi Pro for your first holiday challenge Paul
00:03:33and Prue would like you to make 10 stained glass cookie ornaments each
00:03:37cookie must have a candy glass window and be strung to hang on a tree and in
00:03:43true holiday movie fashion you also have to fall in love while learning the
00:03:47true spirit of Christmas and you will have just two hours to do all that we go
00:03:53all right on your mark yes it's good let's go oh my gosh perfect I don't know what
00:04:10sifting does but it looks professional so I love it feeling like Martha Stewart over
00:04:14here it's gonna make sounds the whole time today's signature challenge for our
00:04:20celebrity bakers is a cookie and we want it to really show off the holiday time good
00:04:28enough one of the things they have to introduce to their cookies the stained
00:04:31glass window I'm whisking I wish someone would whisk me away right now you grind
00:04:36down the candy to a powder pop it into the middle of the hole bake it and it melts the
00:04:40candy to form a glass that you can almost look through and it works beautifully the biscuit
00:04:51needs to be robust enough to hang on a Christmas tree it shouldn't come out of the oven until it's
00:04:58biscuit colored otherwise it will be underbaked so I warn everyone I'm turning this on gonna be quite
00:05:04tricky but these are celebrity bakers I've got to take that into consideration on my judging and
00:05:09I'll be just as brutal as I normally am tell us all about your cookies what are you doing I am
00:05:21currently creaming the zest and then I'm gonna add the lemon juice I take it's a lemon cookie there yes
00:05:28it is do you bake a lot I do not so you've not practiced I have not that's how I live life you
00:05:34seem very confident bake it till you bake it okay okay Janelle's holiday bows will feature a lemon
00:05:42shortbread cookie with green and red candied glass garnished with a dollop of lemon glazed icing for a bit
00:05:49of extra joy do you normally chill your day before you roll out your cookies so I'm confused by the
00:05:55normally today I will look at Janelle talking away over there how could she talk and do this at the same
00:06:03time the judges are looking for perfectly baked cookies and that all starts with allowing the dough
00:06:09plenty of time to chill if it's not chilled enough when it bakes it like spreads out into a not good shape
00:06:16I knew that already no one told me good idea this is the candy to make the glass window all right
00:06:29all right good morning now I'm nervous so Baron tell us about your biscuits my biscuits are going to be
00:06:39Christmas tree biscuits I am crushing up boiled sweets all different colors all in different colors I'm
00:06:46impressed that sounds wonderful Baron's Christmas tree lemon sugar cookies will feature a kaleidoscope
00:06:52of colored candy windows with a dusting of snowy sugar have you baked before I have when I was a kid with
00:07:00my grandma I would watch her and then now that I have a son his name is LA and that's all he loves to
00:07:06do is bake so okay so son come on man root for me pray for me this is obviously a tool I haven't used
00:07:14before but no fear the bakers must blitz their hard candies to a fine powder a little bit of fear how do
00:07:20you eat to get that smooth glassy window the judges are looking for there we go while most are going for a
00:07:28festive mix of colors that's a little purple Oliver has a very specific vision in mind gonna be clear
00:07:36because when you put it up to your eye and you look through yeah you can see your future magic so it's
00:07:42more than a cookie boy it's a time machine Oliver's hoping to see a Hollywood handshake through the clear
00:07:50glass window of his festive almond wreath cookies does your wife bake no but Kate does my sister never
00:07:58heard of her never heard of her Kate Hudson she's been in a few things yes so when I told her I'm doing this she
00:08:03just said don't make us look bad as a family you know I've let them down anymore than you have right exactly
00:08:08morning sherry are you a little bit nervous about today I can you tell do you ever bake at home is
00:08:17this something no no I usually don't bake at home I like to cook but not bake and I thought sherry you
00:08:25don't accept the challenge sherry's molasses and cinnamon infused ginger snap stars will see a festive
00:08:33hard candy window with a snowy coconut finish okay so you're comfortable with what you're doing you
00:08:39know what you're up to oh oh wow the glass would be interesting maybe just red or it could be like a
00:08:46surprise one of the cookies has glass in it oh my gosh how's it going sherry I broke one of the cups
00:08:57that was apparently uh an heirloom bakers you have one hour left yikes please don't call me a baker you're a master
00:09:07baker well that's not for this show with the clock ticking on the celebrity baker's signature stained glass cookie
00:09:16challenge it's time to carefully roll their chilled dough it's sticking good I'm so glad you're getting this
00:09:22you don't want to over dough it'll be doughy rolled the dough too thick and the cookies may not bake through
00:09:31I'm gonna have problems I'm gonna have to do it again too thin and they could crisp up or burn before the centers are
00:09:38done uh-oh it's kind of thin my sister is actually a professional pastry chef she is she is so does that make
00:09:48you want to bake less do you feel like that's her arena well yeah that's her arena she's good at it
00:09:54but she always talks about how hard it is and I'm finding that she's a liar you're finding it's pretty easy
00:10:02I'm crushing now I'm about to do my shapes all right we're going in first shape I feel like a kid in art
00:10:10class oh shoot no I'll prove I was gonna put this one in but you know what not perfection don't get
00:10:18to go how you doing back there it was smooth sailing and then I've hit a bump just it's sticky
00:10:23and it's making me a little nuts would be Christmas if everything was perfect Janelle yeah everything
00:10:32going okay even if it wasn't I would lie cut out the window shape I'm gonna take out the center and
00:10:38that's where I'm gonna put my candy for the stained glass this is where the mystery is gonna take
00:10:44place perf I just believe in myself and things come together I refuse to embarrass myself on London
00:10:50television you know what I mean I'm probably gonna bake those too why not a little a little a little you
00:10:57know some of them look great and some of them look terrible so I'm scared for my life
00:11:02wow right in the middle man it's just like shooting the jumper hi Baron how's it going over
00:11:09here oh do you feel nervous now yeah I get nervous before anything basketball basketball always always
00:11:17I have nerves but I feel kind of like this is more therapeutic really like I'm always moving around
00:11:25yeah you know my kids they be bothering me everybody bothers me so yeah including me
00:11:31no no I'm good with this 30 minutes left bakers oh no my candy dust
00:11:39we got the green for apple we got the strawberries we got like a blue raspberry boiled candy they may taste crazy though because I'm mixing all these damn flavors
00:11:52very important that the shards don't go over the side of the cookie
00:11:56those look really good man and look see these what are those little nuggets they're earrings for
00:12:03prove trying to butter up the judges that's right these look great and you know what I don't miss the green
00:12:11I love you for that you know what I hope they taste good who cares about that uh Mr. Paul and
00:12:17oh well speaking of I have to do a time call although you look like you're in great shape
00:12:23well I work out oh you mean the cookies
00:12:25bakers you have 15 minutes geez it just got real going in let's get righteous
00:12:36the Hudson Express going in as the judges are expecting the cookies to hang delicately on a tree
00:12:45nailing the right bake time is critical I'm gonna look at them in eight minutes I just want them to
00:12:52be crispy I think it's better a little overdone than under but I could be wrong I want them to rise so
00:12:58they got a little crisp on the edge you know let's go cookies let's go you know kind of using some
00:13:07basketball strategy I'm coaching my cookies up it's on y'all let's go Mr. happy pants back
00:13:14there if he was anymore laid back he'd be dead not me let's see feel like they a little light it's
00:13:21supposed to be dark right better to overcook those than undercooked them because you want them to
00:13:25stop all right then I want one minute they're supposed to be crispy crispy yes yours are well you know
00:13:31they browning up bro they looking good see you're good I think I took mine out too early yeah
00:13:36let them brown a little bit buy no cookies five minutes left bakers are these ready I don't know
00:13:43dude I think I should take them out did I forget something they still white I hope they're crisp
00:13:49because they're called snaps damn overcooked how much time we got one minute left bakers I got
00:13:57to take it out each one is gonna get icing and coconut oh the first one is uh it's underbaked I'm
00:14:06gonna have problems hanging you see these bones I'm so proud of myself it's just gonna break it's not
00:14:13cooked enough do you not hang them I can't they're falling everywhere don't do my dog like that
00:14:18bang got him bakers this challenge has ended oh this is me looking the other contestants tables
00:14:32they look like pita chips I couldn't be more proud of this cookie but I wanted them to be a little more
00:14:46overcooked so they snap you know because I could just hear Paul saying it's called a ginger snap not
00:14:51a ginger bend everybody's cookies look great you know they look like cookies you will see in the
00:14:57store mine looks like a homemade cookie but it didn't break I don't think I baked them long enough it
00:15:06was hard to see the future because the cookie just crumbled it was a glimpse oh look hi Oliver
00:15:14tell us all about your cookies it's an almond cookie it's got a little lemon zest a little window
00:15:22to your soul this is all on purpose because they're snowflakes and they have fallen so then I've made some
00:15:29earrings for Prue oh that's nice yeah this is the first time you've baked anything like this yes I love
00:15:35the fact that they're not colored in the middle that looks quite elegant it's impressive the idea of this
00:15:40was if you do look through right you can see into your future tell me what you see absolutely nothing
00:15:46nothing I can see stars and shiny lights oh oh yeah it picks up oh yeah yeah I knew it it has got lovely
00:16:02flavor to this even with the nuts on the top yeah it works really well but it's about five minutes away
00:16:07yeah the dough is nicely made it's not overworked if you'd baked it properly it would have been
00:16:12perfect five minutes from perfection that's my autobiography thank you guys I think you should be
00:16:22quite proud of yourself you were so nervous at the beginning I think you guys were nervous for me
00:16:27the shape of the cookies are nice actually because you can see what they are interesting about the
00:16:31coconut's stuck on the edges as well it's snow it's snow cannot exactly it's nice tender ginger bread
00:16:42I like the cookie itself but it's under baked needs longer coconut and ginger is an interesting thing
00:16:49because they don't often work together but they did today yeah not keen on the coconut and they just
00:16:55need another five minutes and I think you would have been onto something but it's a nice biscuit very nice
00:16:59biscuit thank you you know I'm doing minimalism yeah let's see so look that is very lemony good but
00:17:17not too much no just a dollar for joy it's delicious I think they are a little they're a little wet delicious
00:17:23they're under baked hmm I like the flavor it's just that you need another five to ten minutes and be
00:17:28spot-on so basically perfect what are they talking about what are they talking about
00:17:42well I think they look delicious they look quite caramelly they are a bit burnt I saw you rolling out
00:17:48your cookie and they were very thin thin yeah and that's why it's burnt it's so good oh these are good
00:17:57no little window was lovely and thin and so it's like cracky caramel hmm it is burnt but actually it
00:18:05gives it a lot of character and a lot of flavor so there's a lot of depth there like and it hangs
00:18:09beautifully I think you're doing a decent job oh man oh thank you thank you so much they were maybe a
00:18:19little overcooked but my cookies you can leave out for Santa and he gonna trust that because the cookies
00:18:25are brown they look cooked if Santa is rocking with the cookies he ain't gonna pass up that plate
00:18:30that's all I worry about I feel like because mine were almost perfection you know what I mean they had
00:18:36to go a little hard on me to make the other people feel okay do I feel confident going into the
00:18:44technical yes I do feel like you knew the answer to that when you asked me the holidays are full of
00:18:57surprises and for our celebrity bakers this next challenge will be no different bakers it's time
00:19:05for the most stressful time of the holiday season the technical challenge this challenge was created
00:19:12by Prue Prue any words of wisdom yes you'll think this is more complicated than it is just read the
00:19:18recipe and you'll be fine well that's the gift that keeps on giving now bakers this is a blind challenge
00:19:24so at this point we would like to kindly ask Prue and Paul to exit the tent they want to go make snow
00:19:31angels the technical challenge is a lot like the holidays it's very stressful zero time but everything
00:19:37was made better by that big holiday bonus we all got that's right you got a holiday bonus I didn't get
00:19:43a bonus that's weird for this challenge Prue is asking you all to make a classic Crancicaca what
00:19:50Crancicaca it's a stunning tower of chewy pistachio cookie rings stacked and decorated to be your
00:19:58perfect holiday centerpiece seriously you got a raise yeah it was was it life-changing yeah each ring
00:20:05is precisely baked to give it its signature chewy texture and you will have two hours and 15 minutes
00:20:11to chew on that mmm on your marks get set bake ah all right what the hell I don't know what the
00:20:25Chacaca Walker is yeah I don't know what it is I think that's some kind of like Christmas monster
00:20:31we just gonna see what comes out of the oven we all know what caca is you know what I mean so a crayons and
00:20:37caca it's almost like if someone eats too many cranberries they've got cranberries in the caca so
00:20:42it's like a Crancaca Crancaca Prue I mean this is a great challenge for our celebrity bakers very
00:20:48festive of the holiday time pretty straightforward yes I mean it sounds simple enough you have to make
00:20:5412 concentric rings of dough and leave them in the oven until golden brown and this is a difficult
00:21:02bit because I didn't give them the baking time what is the baking time it's about 15 minutes which is
00:21:06it's not long and then they've got to stack them up do the zigzag icing and build it up we want it
00:21:12beautifully symmetrical like this yeah do you want to try some Prue I do I do there you go Prue take the
00:21:17top one there thank you lovely oh the knife goes through beautifully crispy on the outside and soft in
00:21:24the middle now that is perfect mmm recipe wise I think the flavor they should attain this I'm not sure
00:21:32about the texture because you haven't got the bake time I think that's gonna be the issue it'll be
00:21:36interesting to see who's got that beautiful chew and whose ends up like house bricks you know
00:21:41the first step is to make the dough to make it the dough tip the pistachios and icing into a bowl
00:21:50how much icing sugar 600 grams I'm 598 that's good enough bang 600 add the beaten egg whites and the
00:22:01pistachio extract and mix but am I beating the egg whites in here how you know when the eggs are
00:22:06thoroughly beaten when they're down for the count these are the things that a real baker would know
00:22:12and of course I don't now I got to put this in here and use my hands are there gloves get the
00:22:21hands in there get all up in that caca feels like I'm on the right track looks like it's a nice dough
00:22:29consistency feel like a kid again so we start a boot fight Aaron I heard a rumor did you know Oliver
00:22:41before today I knew Oliver since I was in seventh grade what that's crazy went to school together he
00:22:49wasn't like a bully or anything no not at all were you a ball opposite no not at all okay but I wasn't
00:22:54the best student I wasn't a good student so I were in show business step two for the decoration roll out
00:23:02the sugar gum paste to the thickness of three millimeters cut out a six pointed star six pointed
00:23:08star measuring approximately five centimeters in diameter it's like a geometry problem and cooking
00:23:14this doesn't help me at all the hell a six pointed stall look like I got a draw on this
00:23:21three four that's five how the hell do you do six this is where I lose I don't know how to cut stars
00:23:29hey oh my gosh I just wanted to come say hi see how the crayons of cock is going um three four
00:23:37five I need a six pointed star is that correct so where do you live six pointed star you watching
00:23:45anything fun I don't know what you're talking about oh wait you feel like you have a lot sorry

00:23:59I've got some options I can come back to this if I need to maybe I'll move on to something else

00:24:08step three cut the chilled dough into four pieces roll each piece into a long rope about two centimeters
00:24:19thick I am not good at math and these measurements I have not measured I love desserts that looks like

00:24:37I've only been baking for one day I'm ready to retire cut the dough into the following lengths

00:24:53oh my gosh it's too complicated no one said anything about math some are thicker than others let me measure
00:25:01these again I don't want Paul to say my rings are too thick I'm very focused with the poopoo
00:25:06caca you have to be very precise zip precision come on now now I need 23 okay shape the cut
00:25:17length into rings oh gosh oh no I am one ring short yeah do you have more dough here oh thank you sir

00:25:31Elementary truly one of the funniest characters ever on television oh thank you do you share any kind
00:25:37traits with her like her I'm like super humble you know okay and um and when this came to me I thought she
00:25:47was hilarious and then I was like who else is me bakers we're halfway there yeah you have one hour and
00:25:59seven and a half minutes one hour very very specific it's good let them know this is also not a watch
00:26:07now bake the rings until golden brown it doesn't say how long why y'all do this on the second half
00:26:17I'm toast so am I just supposed to guess if it's ready or not guess I gotta watch them I don't know
00:26:24how long caca take the cook here we go how you doing sherry a watched ring never browns but I'm not
00:26:34gonna be you know underdog again the celebrity bakers are halfway through their festive cranzicaca
00:26:49technical challenge now that my dough is in the oven I'm gonna get the icing ready for the royal icing
00:26:58and two tablespoons of pasteurized egg whites gradually whisk in the icing sugar time until
00:27:04stiff glossy peaks form when the whisk is removed add food coloring bit by bit until the icing is bright
00:27:12green turning it green let's go a little more why not is that golden I look pretty good I don't
00:27:22all appetizing but they look brown and circular hey you really pulled it out in that last round it
00:27:29felt good I bet you know coming from a family of very famous people I don't get a lot of wins you
00:27:35know and you're a winner to me baby no I know I so this feels good and I can you know maybe rub it in
00:27:41their face yeah I think you know when you come home with that cake stand yeah I can be like no yeah
00:27:45suck it yeah well you got huh we got almost famous or Oscar yeah what's an Oscar what a golden globe you
00:27:51don't have the plate oh it's starting to smell good baby baby I gotta get this star right
00:28:01gonna move them so they cool off but they've been in there for a bit now is it supposed to be golden
00:28:11brown yeah it's taking a minute to get gold yeah that's why I'm watching but it's hard to tell when
00:28:17pistachio because it's kind of already green is a golden brown
00:28:21finally somebody oh oh oh talking about golden brown
00:28:36I think they're burned ah that looks pretty golden to me I think they're gonna stack well
00:28:45they seem to stay in the shapes and sizes that they were meant to stay in so fingers are crossed
00:28:52bakers you have 30 minutes left Jesus Christmas huh if Santa can deliver four billion presents in one
00:29:01night you all can make one stinking still pretty warm they went from not wanting to go brown to not
00:29:11wanting to cool down did you ever work in a restaurant I have actually my dad had a restaurant really and so
00:29:17I don't know if you've ever had to prep meatballs while somebody yells at you okay what's next build the
00:29:26tower pipe a few dots of the icing into the base of the largest one and stick it in the middle of the
00:29:32cake and then pipe the icing in a zigzag pattern around the ring repeat with the remaining rings
00:29:39stacking them on top of each other zigzag it said so far so good ah freak ain't nobody zigzag like me baby
00:29:51my icing thing broke I don't know how to fix it remember that game you used to have when you were
00:29:57a kid the tower you remember with the different colors yes the play school toys a hundred percent
00:30:03I'd play with that now if I had Hanukkah has eight nights so you all only have five minutes
00:30:10ah mother of a pearl these things never end stress me out I have no idea how it tastes it kind of smells
00:30:21like poop good job sherry how far behind am I not too far your rings are much neater than mine
00:30:32I like your little loops you got the loops girl you got the hoops oops one minute left bakers oh
00:30:42oh you know amateurs use sibs I just tossed us now oh it's like my first night in Hollywood snow was
00:30:53everywhere I wish I stacked it a little bit better but it's fine and here we go with the finishing
00:31:01touch bakers this challenge has ended please take your wreath cakes and bring them up to the judges
00:31:11table I'm glad that this part is over I don't think they took it easy on us at all I'm hoping I might
00:31:19surprise myself I've got to find its best side there you go I was so hyper focused making it good and
00:31:25getting it done but I took my time everything was going well so I think I did better than I thought I
00:31:31would do I don't know we'll see we'll see Paul and Pru are looking for 12 beautifully baked and
00:31:42stacked pistachio cookie rings decorated with green icing and a sugar star on top but they have no idea
00:31:49whose krenzakaka is whose welcome I'm impressed I think they've done badly I'm quite impressed we'll start
00:31:57with this one little wobbly little wobbly but it's well stacked interesting star let's have a quick look inside
00:32:05might be a little bit over baked just a bit it's not meant to be baked right through
00:32:13I need new crown
00:32:18it's very dark underneath you can see it's over baked but the flavor is good and the structures
00:32:25a bit all over the place but it's not bad icing is a little imaginative and you know what at a party it would be
00:32:31demolished in no time because they are delicious yeah once people have had a few drinks moving on to
00:32:37this one pretty neat a bit wobbly and they look nicely risen they do don't they they've got a nice
00:32:42height to them again I think they're going to it's a bit hard you know what I begin to think I should
00:32:49have given them a baking time maybe a baking time would have been good we were told golden brown
00:32:53on the outside not on the inside do you know I want to just see if the bottom one is just as hard

00:36:00grinch i think overall between the two challenges i've been quite surprised certainly with the cookies
00:36:05few of them under baked it as opposed to baron who over baked it and actually i think they did
00:36:09pretty well they looked so pretty too they were really good even the kranzer was good surprising
00:36:15because i thought it was a really difficult challenge yeah i thought janelle did extremely
00:36:19well to produce that kranzer kachen which was pretty much perfect yeah there's some talent in a sense
00:36:24now is there anything that sherry or baron could do baron would struggle i think being last in
00:36:29technical and with his over baked cookie what about sherry she's got some good ideas i think showstopper's
00:36:35really gonna sort it all out yeah but i do think in pole position is janelle and oliver at the
00:36:41moment but that could change i wonder if his famous mother goldie horn baked he said she's a
00:36:46great cook yeah well i'd like to see goldie hall in the tents bacon because that would be great oh
00:36:51what a tree that's my generation we could get her in here get her on the horn oliver
00:37:05bakers welcome to the showstopper challenge you are being asked to make a winter meringue scene
00:37:13based on your favorite holiday story so basically taking your childhood trauma and turning it into
00:37:19dessert my favorite holiday memory is when i cried my eyes out on a mall santa's lap how old
00:37:24were you that was last year oh each scene will need 10 pieces of baked meringue you will have
00:37:31three hours and 30 minutes to complete this challenge on your marks get set bake
00:37:38oh lots of size yes deep size okay here we go do i make meringue often never never made it but
00:37:49offense maybe there's no defense to play here i've heard that it's very uh precise i'm using scales
00:37:56and math and such so doing math love it our showstopper challenge for our bakers is a meringue scene to
00:38:02represent their favorite memory from the holiday time and it's down to our bakers to choose the
00:38:08meringue carefully it's got to be 160 you guys want to see that bow this is time consuming whatever they
00:38:14choose they've got to blend in that sugar into the meringue properly to get a beautiful bake for all those
00:38:19amateur bakers out there who you know want to take a tip from the hudson express add the sugar in slowly
00:38:26to your meringue if you're going to do anything in baking that's it my main concern is that because
00:38:34it's a sculpture they're quite liable to break because a really good meringue is very fragile
00:38:40putting vanilla into the meringue right now my main advice for the bakers is to get a good bake on it
00:38:46so that it's almost dry in the middle then they'll be much easier to assemble i'm going to try not to
00:38:52make as much of a mess as i did yesterday now i know the celebrities probably never even seen a
00:38:57meringue in raw form before but they're gonna have to do well today morning oliver good morning we need
00:39:08to know all about your christmas see it's got this because you just messed up my meringue that's fine in
00:39:15case you guys didn't know it's very delicate that you got to be very careful yeah um so my showstopper
00:39:20is a picture of colorado kurt my stepdad came into my life and brought us to colorado at six and
00:39:26at christmas hockey on the pond bonfire it was just sort of this magical idyllic setting
00:39:34oliver is hoping his merry meringue scene will taste as sweet as the memory that inspired it

00:39:46chocolate chip bonfire it's very ambitious but i just hope you pull it off i hope so too

00:39:58i'm looking for thick and glossy i'm looking for paint basically as janelle and baron have opted for
00:40:04a swiss style meringue a smooth glossy consistency will let them know when it's been whipped to perfection

00:43:33do a meringue and i want to be creative i got to go with my guy if it's the holidays with a vanilla
00:43:40swiss meringue santa riding in his lemon curd filled sleigh baron is hoping to sweeten up the judges
00:43:45and it isn't the only gift he's delivering this christmas i got a surprise for you all do you make
00:43:51these yes oh wow beautiful so this is the guy that we're gonna see hopefully so now you can hang
00:43:57it on your tree thanks buddy it will be and now you'll remember me thank you thank you hey time is

00:44:10though for their showstopper challenge the celebrity bakers are taking a trip down memory lane
00:44:22and rebuilding it entirely in meringue one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven

00:44:41the of all right the moment of truth for their meringues to stand tall and structurally sound

00:45:29eat something with guava you're like oh i should use that more often why don't i probably because
00:45:35it's labor intensive worth it is that a caramel this is guava puree which is gonna turn into curd
00:45:43curd is not a great word no when i run 10 miles i have curds between my legs
00:45:51it's been a nice visit bakers you have one hour left
00:45:59i thought i had more time i was like uh no i don't black santa's cooking the curd is setting now i just
00:46:07gotta make sure that this whipped cream whip up right i wish we could have music i have to turn
00:46:13off the oven and then wait another however long and let them really dry the way i want them to right
00:46:19guys oliver mentioned he wished that there was music while he was baking and so a five six seven eight

00:48:34bakers may not have enough time to assemble and decorate their holiday scenes look ma bare hands
00:48:43i'm gonna go ahead and say it's done i don't know not too happy with how things came out kind of too
00:48:49abstract if you know what i'm saying it's time to start the assembly i would like them to cool a
00:48:53little bit longer but i don't have the time let's hope that they're cooked through and it all works
00:48:58i'm thinking how to make this stuff look edible and presentable and beautiful symbol the base
00:49:06like curd in the middle i'm afraid for my meringue this is the part where vision comes into play look at

00:50:48oh man that was tough that was super tough black santa came out okay i don't think i embarrassed it
00:50:54but the taste they gonna love the taste i always say like don't worry about the design
00:50:58it's how it tastes do i think paul and prue will know what it's supposed to be yes
00:51:04it's pretty self-explanatory got guava going on in there nobody else got guava that's exotic
00:51:10baron would you like to bring up your scene yes i would like to do that let's hope it stays in one

00:51:23it does look like a horror scene it looks like you have a wolf
00:51:34mid-attack towards santa and he's lost his legs and he's left a deposit on his way back
00:51:44it really does look as if it's sleeping this is amazing and i love the santa
00:51:48has real personality yeah is that cream on top of the case so i use cream to kind of like line
00:51:55the sleigh walls and then the lemon curd is the actual sleigh it's really good
00:52:02it's well baked the cream and the lemon curd is just delicious it's a little bit chalky
00:52:07did you use icing sugar or caster sugar uh icing sugar yeah that tends to make them more chalky
00:52:13i want to try one of the dogs oh oh man you should have tried the dog that's dysfunctional
00:52:19the meringue is well baked thank you some of it obviously you've lost the base
00:52:23but overall your lemon curd's nice thank you and it works with the rest of it i think you ran out of
00:52:27time a bit but i do like the santa that's the hero thing in that one i think that's why i didn't

00:53:52for minimalism for this one and uh yeah just wanted to i wanted to do elegance the guava puree is that

00:54:41little bit of chew in the middle yeah but that with the with the guava passion fruit mix is delicious
00:54:47it is but i think that the guava is slightly too sweet because the meringue is already very sweet

00:54:56good we grew up skating on the pond and these were memories that continue on every year who's the
00:55:07one-eared mr fester so that is actually a growth um that i didn't want to cut off sorry
00:55:17and this is a fire that's a fire and those are chocolate chip meringue rocks
00:55:22and that's folded uh oh look at that that nice folded peppermint a ground peppermint is it and
00:55:29on the trees or anything in the trees are vanilla and then sprinkled peppermint on top
00:55:35mm it tastes just like peppermint drops that's amazing you've ever baked meringue before no you've

00:57:35especially on his snowman really rose well i think janelle did well love the guava yeah that was
00:57:41delicious with the passion fruit and she was first in the technical her kranzakaka was absolutely beautiful
00:57:48spot on so i think you know janelle oliver it's quite tight i think it's between those two really
00:57:53and you think sherry could be up there i think terry's done a good job today the way she'd molded
00:57:58all these tubes and colored everything was beautiful not sure sherry's there the only one
00:58:03i was scared of was barons barons it was different it was a different style more alfred hitchcock
00:58:10because it looked like two wolves about to attack it did a bit but i still think it was really good
00:58:16from yesterday to today i think they've done a really good job so this is my first holiday special
00:58:22with all of you so i'm assuming there's some sort of gift oh paul you can't open it now though
00:58:31i'm gonna keep it to christmas day okay well that's from all i did it's light so it's probably expensive
