United States President Donald Trump, who addressed the World Economic Forum in Davos, reiterated his claim that he settled the India-Pakistan war last year.

00:00Working on this war for one year, during which time I settled eight other wars, India, Pakistan.

00:06I've been, I settled other wars that were, Vladimir Putin called me, Armenia, Abir, Bajan.

00:15He said, I can't believe you settled that one. They were going on for 35 years.

00:19I settled it in one day, and President Putin called me.

00:24He said, you know, I can't believe I've worked on that war for 10 years trying to settle it.

00:29I couldn't do it. I said, do me a favor. Focus on settling your war. Don't worry about that war.

00:34What does the United States get out of all of this work, all of this money,

00:40other than death, destruction, and massive amounts of cash going to people who don't appreciate what we do?

00:48They don't appreciate what we do.

00:50I'm talking about NATO. I'm talking about Europe.

00:54They have to work on Ukraine. We don't. The United States is very far away.

01:01We have a big, beautiful ocean separating us. We have nothing to do with it.

01:05Until I came along, NATO was only supposed to pay 2% of GDP, but they weren't paying.

01:12Most of the countries weren't paying anything.

01:14The United States was paying for virtually 100% of NATO.

01:19And I got that stopped. I said, that's not fair.

01:24But then, more importantly, I got NATO to pay 5%, and now they were paying, and now they are paying.

01:30So something nobody said was possible.

01:33They said, we will never go up higher than 2%.

01:35But they went to 5%, and now they're paying the 5%.

01:39They didn't pay the 2%, and now they're paying the 5%.

01:41And they're stronger for it, and they have an excellent, by the way, Secretary General, who's possibly in the room.
