00:00The FBI served subpoenas to several Minnesota officials, including Governor Tim Walz
00:05and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Fry, for allegedly conspiring to hinder ICE operations in the state.
00:10The subpoenas asked the officials, which also includes State Attorney General Keith Ellison,
00:15to hand over records and communications as the Bureau investigates what they say is, quote,
00:20an alleged conspiracy to coerce or obstruct federal law enforcement operations during the
00:25Department of Homeland Security's Operation Metro Surge in Minnesota. This, of course,
00:30all stems from the protests that erupted in the wake of the shooting of Renee Good by an ICE
00:35officer two weeks ago. Walz, Fry, and Ellison have all been vocal critics of the crackdown by federal
00:40immigration enforcers in the state. The immigration operation includes about 3,000 agents
00:46across several federal agencies.
