00:00FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino took to X to announce he'll be leaving his post as the
00:05Bureau's number two man in January. The announcement didn't come as a huge surprise
00:09considering it came after reports that he was already packing up his office and saying goodbye
00:15to his staff. Now President Trump weighed in suggesting that the former TV host might be
00:19heading back to his roots. Dan did a great job. I think he wants to go back to his show.
00:24Bongino considered leaving the Bureau back in July after a heated exchange with Attorney
00:29General Pam Bondi over the handling of the Epstein files. Before joining the FBI, Bongino
00:35supported Epstein conspiracy theories, including the suggestion that the pedophile was murdered
00:40in his cell and didn't actually take his own life. Now it's widely believed that Andrew Bailey,
00:46co-deputy director and former Missouri Attorney General, will assume Bongino's role.
