00:00In Kapfenberg, Austria,
00:03this industrial manufacturer is working
00:06to promote gender equality in the workplace.
00:08The quality of a job is not just about salary,
00:30it's about labor rights, equal opportunities,
00:33good working conditions and real chances to grow.
00:36Here in Austria, new efforts are bringing workers
00:39and employers together to tackle this challenge
00:41directly inside workplaces.
00:49300 people work at BHDT,
00:52a company specialized in high-pressure equipment
00:54for the chemical and petrochemical industries.
00:58The work is highly technical,
00:59demanding precision, training and skills.
01:02For Eva, who's been here for 11 years,
01:04it's the working conditions that truly make the difference.
01:07According to Eva's colleague Lilo,
01:10these conditions are opening the door for more women
01:12to join a sector traditionally dominated by men.
01:15I feel like as a woman, I've heard that it will be better.
01:18I feel like as a woman, it's much better,
01:21because it's a lot of people are working on.
01:23I feel like I've been there for a woman,
01:24because it's a lot of people working on it.
01:25I feel like today's work-life balance.
01:26The work-life balance is recognized.
01:28It's also a key reason why I've been in the company.
01:30According to Eva's colleague Lilo,
01:31these conditions are opening the door for more women
01:34to join a sector traditionally dominated by men.
01:37Ich fühle mich als Frau gesehen und gehört, es wird immer besser, weil die Firmen sehr viel dafür tun.
01:47BHDT recently begann eine Collaboration mit FairPlus Service.
01:51The program offers free coaching and consulting to companies and their female employees,
01:56helping them gain new qualifications and feel more valued at work.
02:00For employers, it's also a way to improve training, communication and overall workplace culture.
02:05FairPlus started for us with the investigation on the shop floor and they brought us a lot of ideas
02:14where we have to keep our mind on or focus on to have an even better collaboration
02:21between the different groups of people working, employees working in our company.
02:25For us, it's just important that people work together to have the best output for our company and it works.
02:32FairPlus Service runs from 2023 to 2028 and is backed by 6 million euros from the European Social Fund Plus.
02:40The initiative partners with companies across Austria to promote gender equality in the workplace.
02:47It's an important step towards tackling the challenges that continue to affect female workers across the European Union.
02:54We have particular problems that are visible for women and there is a visible gender gap.
03:0012% lower pay for the same work on average in Europe.
03:05Women have much more work outside of their workplaces in job, much more unpaid work at home
03:11for taking care of family members or domestic work.
03:15Women have much less perspectives for growing in the career.
03:20Between 2021 and 2027, the ESF Plus is investing more than 2.1 billion euros to support gender equality in the EU's labor market.
03:30New initiatives like the Quality Jobs Roadmap will also guide member states in creating better and more secure jobs across the continent.
03:38This is very important because it gives first the ground, the framing of the discussion about quality jobs.
03:45And this is something extremely important.
03:47Again, this is part of the European competitiveness.
03:50It zooms on some particular issues that are very important, like the health and safety conditions,
03:57especially, for example, workers that are exposed to high heat,
04:01but also the psychosocial risks and the psychological climate at work,
04:07which is an issue with increasing importance.
04:09It also is going to zoom the debate on the new technologies that are coming into work,
04:17artificial intelligence, digitalization, the role of the humans in the whole process.
04:21Back in Katzenberg, Eva has a message for women based on her own experience in the workplace.
04:27The story of Eva and her colleagues shows that gender equality in the workplace is not just an ideal,
04:50but a real possibility that benefits workers, employers and the economy.
04:57The death of others run for equal using both Americans and
05:00who
05:06are varying on across the country.
05:08Let me remember, it seems to have a few aspects involved as a team.
05:12Taking hold on to the options to aWhat to happen and see better things.
05:14I'm not sure what I think about what are other issues involving people leaving as a focus of этим.
05:18I'm expecting different, like, oh yeah, if someone했다 would accept that Fantastic personnel,
05:25the moment they might try to act on this.
