00:00And there's here a confirmation of the changes made by Neil Lennon as he tries to shake some life into
00:06his team.
00:07Todd Oakley, Booth and Morrison coming off and replaced by Rudden, Kearney and Kane.
00:14Which we did suspect as that first half wore on and we saw those three being readied down below us.
00:26What can Dunfermline do for the 22nd time the Cubs have met in the Scottish Cup?
00:34Celtic have prevailed 15 times.
00:37Dunfermline just the twice, the fifth time they've met in the final, the third this century.
00:41There was also a League Cup final in 2006 between them.
00:46Celtic won comfortably.
00:48They're heading for a comfortable victory as things stand.
00:52But Scott Brown was saying there James, brave changes by Neil Lennon but you kind of feel they had to
00:58be made.
00:59Yeah, brave changes with nothing to lose really because the first half performance miles away from what he expects from
01:05his team.
01:06Not that he should be coming here and dominating Celtic but put up a little bit of a fight.
01:10I think you see the difference.
01:11Early the ball comes up to Rudden, it sticks, he flicks it round to Kane.
01:14They managed to get themselves up the pitch and get a touch of the ball.
01:18So he had to make those changes and he'll be hoping to get a big response from his team just
01:23by even having the presence of Kane who's been outstanding.
01:26Rudden's been a big loss for them.
01:28Just being up there and maybe inspire the players around them.
01:31Andrew Todd being one of them, Matty Todd another one.
01:34But they have to go for it.
01:36They have to go and try and get that next goal and see if it makes a big difference.
01:41Fraser takes.
01:44Top out to Abdullahi here.
01:49Celo Grummelin.
01:51Well, initially and then flies in the challenge with Kieran Tierney who concedes the corner in the end.
01:59The first of the match for Dunferman Athletic comes early in the second half.
02:04Yeah, I mean, it's just the determination that gets him through.
02:07A lovely bit of skill here.
02:11He's got a challenge as well.
02:13Much better start at the half in the fairman.
02:17Matty Todd to take.
02:18He's standing in the quarters against Aberdeen.
02:21Kane couldn't quite get the flick onto it.
02:23It would have been very interesting to see what would have happened had he managed to get anything on that.
02:29That's Abdullahi.
02:30That's a lovely little ball in from Matty Todd.
02:33Abdullahi goes and attacks it.
02:35He just can't get it in target.
02:37He's running back the way.
02:38That's a big chance for Dunferman.
02:41They both had an opportunity there, haven't they?
02:44Yeah.
02:54Positive start to the second 45 by the powers at least.
02:58Here's Gilmore.
03:09He's in the roar from the Dunfermans of Torta.
03:14We've seen more problem in the opening three minutes of the second half than we saw in the opening 45.
03:18Absolutely, it's a dream start for them.
03:24Exactly what Neil Lennon's looking for.
03:26Gordon and Kane trying to link up.
03:28Being more aggressive in the press.
03:31Stopping the, closing the spaces off for Celtic.
03:39Hey Todd.
03:42He's got a chance to finish it in the box again.
03:47He's taken by Sydney Shallow and Mudden slaps his hand on the pitch in frustration.
03:54Yeah, but he's there.
03:54He can't get a clean header on it, but he's there to get his head on the end of it.
04:09I don't know if the message from Neil Lennon is not to leave any regrets out on the pitch.
04:18He almost fell for Gilmore at the edge of the box.
04:20McGregor gets it away.
04:24That would be 100% be the message from Neil Lennon.
04:27Don't leave any regrets.
04:29Believe in yourself as well as a team and their young players.
04:33Good young players.
04:34Go and give the best version of yourself in this second half.
04:37And certainly that's the start they've made.
04:40Going to get a free kick here.
04:42Fraser upended.
04:46Celtic finally have something to think about.
04:48Yeah, I mean that's Fraser you've seen driving forward to Le Corne Mullan on the other side.
04:54Certainly getting higher up the pitch.
04:56Coming from, you know, a bit of pressure.
04:58I see a Celtic just clearing it up the pitch.
05:00And Fairman managing to get a touch of the ball and mount an attack.
05:07They finished the championship season so strongly.
05:11Dunder and Fairman didn't move quite enough to finish above Ardrowth.
05:17They did knock them out in the playoffs.
05:18Must out to Bardic Thistle.
05:21Disappointing for them.
05:23Matty Todd with it.
05:25And Heather's well over.
05:28But already we're seeing the impact of both Chris Kane and Zach Rudden.
05:33Absolutely.
05:34It's night and day.
05:35The start to this second half of how they performed in the first.
05:38We know Matty Todd's delivery is outstanding.
05:41Plenty of bodies in there.
05:44Just a little bit of belief.
05:45But a lot more belief certainly than the first half from the Fairman.
05:50We're giving Celtic something to think about.
05:56Celtic thought that we're going to come out and just cruise this second half then.
06:00Fairman is showing that they're going to show some fight.
06:03Try and get back into the game.
06:12First spell on top in the match.
06:14You feel Dunder and you're too behind.
06:17And Fairman will have to try and make hay while the sun shines here.
06:22The Celtic will come at them at some point.
06:34The bare minimum for the Fairman in this second half is to show some fight and spirit.
06:38Just get yourself into the game and put up a fight.
06:41Certainly started with that intention.
06:44Not to say that Celtic won't have their moments.
06:46Of course they will.
06:48It's a good one for Mullen as well to get back to his feet.
06:51The ref's going to bring it back anyway.
07:10They won just eight of their opening 25 league games of the season.
07:15The pars when they run at the back end of the campaign coming too late to finish any higher than
07:21fourth.
07:23Like Falkirk, who they beat in the semis, they have to take inspiration from the journey the Bairns have been
07:29on.
07:30They are too big a club to be languishing as they have been for years.
07:35They have to lie with the challenge there, and Yang Forrest can't get through.
07:40He's got to release it, Yang Forrest, there's acres of space in the right hand side.
07:46Kane is rugby tackled to the ground by Trusty, who's going to be booked here.
07:52And he thinks it should have gone the other way.
08:01It's what it brings, Chris Kane, not having this to run.
08:06I mean, I think Trusty does have a point, he steps across him.
08:14Started both St Johnstone's sensational Cup double victories in 2021, did Kane?
08:23like
08:25back
08:31Cesar.
08:35Keane didn't go in the header, but
08:39comes out to Yang.
08:53She Kearney.
08:56The Cup winner in
08:59Northern Ireland is Kearney, one of the
09:02half-time subs.
09:08Cliftonville beat Linfield in
09:102024, he scored in the final last season, but
09:13beaten by Dungan and Swifts.
09:28It's
09:28effectively a 4-3-3 going within this second half, and at the moment it's working.
09:39The trouble is, they are two down.
09:58You mentioned in the first half, James, it has been a problem for Celtic this season, from minute one to
10:0390 there has seldom been a game where they've been on top for its entirety.
10:09Yeah, certainly the start of the second half shows that they haven't had it their own way this second half,
10:15but you feel that they're in a good place to be able to adapt.
10:21I think you could see that even at the start of the game when Deferman are going and being aggressive
10:25with the man-to-man pressing.
10:26I think Callum McGregor couldn't really get him on the ball, but he manages to find space, and I think
10:32that will be the same again.
10:33You look at the strength of the bench as well, when they make those changes, they all seem to have
10:39an impact on the team, and it might have to be the case today as well.
10:43They're in a great position, they're 2-0 up, they're totally dominant in that first half.
10:48And as much as Deferman have been better, he's still comfortable.
10:54I think Martin O'Neill is going to react to what he's seen since the turnaround with Kelechi Iannaccio about
11:02to come on to replace James Forrest.
11:09Iannaccio made an impact in the semi.
11:20He hasn't been far from a regular starter, hasn't started a game for Celtic since coming back from injury.
11:29He's scored some really important goals for them.
11:34They run to their 56th league title.
11:43Iannaccio.
11:45He grinded.
11:46It was Iannaccio.
11:49Engels.
11:50Gone at the moment, and it comes, and Oxfra gets his gloves on it.
11:54Maida lurking.
12:01Great play from Celtic, quick passing and moving.
12:15And goals have got Celtics second.
12:20Fantastic finish it was.
12:22Both Celtic goals.
12:26They're worthy of the stage.
12:34Scales gets the free kick.
12:47It's a sore one for Liam Scales.
12:48Yeah, it takes one more.
12:50Kelly's there, Chris Kane, and as much as it's giving a foul away, it's putting pressure on.
12:57It's letting them know they're in a game.
13:03He's okay.
13:04He's signed a new deal this season on Scales as Iannaccio appears to come on for Forrest.
13:15And he leaves the pitch with his team in an excellent position to help add to his incredible trophy haul.
13:25And then comes Iannaccio, who's come up with some spectacular cameos this season.
13:30Alphonso Amade is gonna come on for Dunfermline as well.
13:36And then he will replace Abdoulaye.
13:42The start of the semi-final dude, Amade.
13:51The Mozambican.
13:54Yeah, he's on, he's one that wants to get on the ball and play forward passes.
13:59Abdoulaye's in there for his physicality.
14:00Some slight change.
14:03As much as the formation won't change, it's a different profile of player.
14:08And Iannaccio, you listen to the reaction from the Celtic crowd coming on.
14:12He's been such an important player when he's been fit and available.
14:15I know he wants to start more games, but it seems like just the ideal player to bring off the
14:22bench,
14:22to get a hold of the ball, to get chances.
14:25He's got that intelligence and clearly an eye for goal.
14:29Great composure in front of the ball.
14:35He's also someone who's got in on the act on the late heroics times this campaign.
14:52The Celtic scored 11 lead goals after the 87-minute mark this season, including two last week.
15:00The most telling effect of all.
15:09Iannaccio himself scored late ones at Kilmarnock at Dundee and Motherwell.
15:14The latter caused plenty of controversy.
15:18Still being spoken about to this day.
15:22Not that Iannaccio was complaining.
15:25The pressure on his shoulders at that moment.
15:29That penalty doesn't go in, Celtic don't win the league.
15:33The way it played out, certainly.
15:37Here come the powers, Andrew Todd.
15:41Sinisalo is to slap it away.
15:46Yeah, I don't think he was going for a goal there, Andrew Todd, but enough to trouble Sinisalo on goal.
15:52Yeah, we're right behind that.
15:54If he misjudges it, it could quite easily have gone in.
15:56Yeah, I think he's going for the cross there, but almost turns into the chip towards that back post area.
16:02Sinisalo had to deal with it.
16:22It was our fifth league title in succession for Celtic that they sealed last weekend, and won 14 of the
16:30last 15.
16:33Keanu got a second chance.
16:38Matty Todd.
16:42Kearney's balls.
16:43Ruddins header.
16:46Sanguena.
16:48Gilmore.
16:52He's up.
16:56Ousamaade.
16:57He's hit it well, but off target.
17:01But again, it's another signal of intent from this Dunfermline team that's woken up for the second half.
17:08Yeah, it's a great play.
17:09Patient play.
17:09Temptation just to throw it into the box for Fraser and Gilmour.
17:14Armagh just picks it up.
17:16One thought in his mind.
17:17Take a good first touch, get a shot at the goal.
17:20Scales out, trying to close the angle.
17:22I think Sinisalo had it covered anyway, but it was good play.
17:26It's been a much, much improved performance in this second half from Dunfermline.
17:33Because instead of breaking the ball.
17:35Area will be run Soren.
17:40He's ducking
17:53And going to get up there.
17:56What?
18:21It was a narrow Celtic victory the last time these two met
18:24in the Scottish Cup final in 2007, it was also in Fairland manager Neil Lennon's final game for Celtic, he
18:34captained Gordon Strachan's men to the silverware, it was a Jean-Joel Perry-Doumbé goal that won it, 5 of
18:45the 90 to play.
18:52It goes after it, Scales gets the tuck slot.
19:12Kearney has to be careful, Maida all over a bit of lash.
19:22Must be a nightmare to play against, Kearney thinks he's won that race, he's got time.
19:27Just doing what he does and giving it up.
19:38I don't know how many kilometers he runs during a match, I'd love to know the answer to that.
19:45Do you know?
19:45I tell you it's a lot, I don't know exactly but it'll be a lot and it's not even the
19:50distance, it's the intensity, the high intensity running from him.
19:54Must go through the roof.
19:55He does that right to the bitter end of the game.
19:58I don't think I've ever seen him jog.
20:01Here he is.
20:03I don't know, what is it this final spot?
20:06It might not matter.
20:09No, it won't but he gets the space and there's time and the cross is there.
20:14You know exactly what he's doing, he's trying to just flash it across.
20:17Ian Acho, Engels has made the run as well.
20:20You've got Yang all beyond that back line.
20:23Really, I mean it doesn't have to be precise.
20:25He can just pass that along the ground, he's not having to bend it round any defenders.
20:30It's not difficult.
20:34Although I've never tried to do it running as fast as what he does.
20:37Yeah, fair point.
20:39It's easy when you're as slow as me.
20:43Your pace got you where you needed to be on many occasions.
20:48A few Macedonian defenders will testify to that.
21:01Oh, hello.
21:06Scales as the trick's out.
21:08And Yang is on to it.
21:11Ian Acho's waiting.
21:13Flags up.
21:16Offside given.
21:18Ian Acho's asking if it was him but it looked like Yang was the one who was off.
21:23Yeah, I thought in the build up that Yang didn't have to get involved.
21:27I thought Ian Acho was running onto it.
21:29It's a lovely pass from Migrant.
21:34Oh, anyhow.
21:36He does look offside.
21:37Ian Acho is certainly onside.
21:39And I don't know if Yang has to get in the way.
21:42Ian Acho's running through there.
21:44I mean, he's not getting onto it to be selfish and, you know, put the ball in the back of
21:48the net himself.
21:49Gets his head up and it's a lovely little square pass.
21:52I just don't know how much Yang had to get involved there.
21:58Well, Ian Acho's definitely running onto it.
22:04Was Yang just offside?
22:09And he was confirmation of that.
22:12So, it's the correct on-field decision.
22:15And the assistant on this near side.
22:17Frank Connor got that spot on.
22:20Yeah, I mean, he looked well off.
22:23I know he wasn't well off in the end.
22:24But he goes to Eli Yang again.
22:27And I'm going to say, I don't, he doesn't need to get involved.
22:30Ian Acho's beyond in Gwen yet.
22:34I mean, speaking about how much of an impact he's had,
22:36you would fancy him to put the ball in the back of the net.
22:39Such composure.
22:41When you look at where Ian Acho is,
22:44he gets the other side of Ingrenia by the time.
22:47And that ball was passed.
22:54Yeah, I remember him coming through as a youngster at Manchester City.
22:57He actually played against Celtic in a game at the Etihad in the Champions League.
23:02Brendan Rodgers was the Celtic manager.
23:04And that was early in the Guardiola era.
23:08Man City.
23:11He's never really settled.
23:15In his career injuries of Hamford, of course.
23:20Injuries of Hamford is tied at Celtic.
23:22.
23:27Talking about that,
23:28the Champions League actually scored in that match against Celtic.
23:321-1 draw in Manchester.
23:38So Middlesbrough last season,
23:40he'd been on loan from Sevilla.
23:43FA Cup final winner, Leicester City.
23:48He's got the class, it's just about getting a match fit.
23:51Because if they can get fit enough to start matches,
23:53he's going to be a serious weapon, isn't he?
23:55Yeah, absolutely.
23:56I think that you can see the sharpness is there.
23:59You look at, you know, Yang going and taking the ball in that offside position,
24:04but he's behind Nguyen.
24:05Nguyen is quick and he manages to get the other side.
24:08So he does have that sharpness and getting him fully fit.
24:12Huge player.
24:14Neil Field and Celtic are beginning to boss things again here.
24:18Scales misjudged that.
24:20Here's Kane.
24:24That was an excellent initially by Kane.
24:26The slightly heavy touch led to him having to slide into that challenge
24:31and he's smacked right back off him.
24:35Yeah, it's unfortunate for Chris Kane,
24:38because it's more hard to enter the challenge.
24:40Ball right off the face.
24:48Ouch.
24:50That is not what you want.
24:56Dazed and confused.
24:58He'll be glad to know, it won't affect his looks.
25:05I'm just making sure he's okay, because that was full force, wasn't it?
25:09He'll be fine.
25:11He'll be fine, Chris Kane.
25:15It was a bitter disappointment for Dunfermline last week, wasn't it, James?
25:20That huge target of promotion back to the Premiership,
25:23where they as a club, they're supporters, they've got such a huge fan base.
25:27As we can see today, a mass exodus from the city of Dunfermline
25:30coming to this cup final.
25:33They belong in the top flight, the size of the club.
25:36I mean, you only belong there if you get there.
25:40They're a club that should be there.
25:41Yeah.
25:42In terms of the size of the club, yes.
25:45And preparations for the, you know, the second leg.
25:48I mean, Aston-Oxford having to go back.
25:50It's not, nothing against Terell in goal,
25:53but when you have had a goalkeeper that's been so good and reliable,
25:57such a good signing, then it does disrupt your preparations.
26:02And inevitably, if Oxford's there,
26:03you wonder if he would have dealt with that goal last week.
26:06Potentially.
26:07With Negrin.
26:08And Oxford, the aforementioned, is on to it again.
26:13I just think it's even familiarity with the set-up.
26:17When you know you've got a player that's been playing behind you
26:21so many games, it can have an impact on the preparation.
26:27Yeah, because that Chandler's goal last week,
26:29just like a little bit of hesitancy that led to it.
26:32Yeah.
26:33And maybe that's just lack of game time,
26:36particularly for goalkeepers, which we don't really ever take into account
26:39and stuff for any player, but your goalkeeping, your last line of defence,
26:43any mistake you make, it's magnified and it can have a big impact.
26:49Continuity and goal is massively important.
27:06I'd like to mention Logan Chalmers.
27:08He'll be hoping to be on the victorious side on Monday night when they go to St. Merran,
27:14the play-off final is poised at 1-1 ahead of the second leg,
27:18and Paisley live on the radio highlights later on in the evening.
27:22and the next Saturday attention turns to the national team
27:25huge summer, Kurosawa are the visitors
27:27under Dick Apicat
27:30there's Johnston for Celtic
27:33away by Robbie Fraser
27:40incredible, I think it was six months ago
27:42we were standing
27:43we were sitting in this very spot, James
27:45when Scotland qualified for the World Cup finals
27:49and in three weeks' time
27:51they'll be taking on Haiti
27:54and Foxtra
27:55and their return to the biggest tournament of a lot
27:59yeah, what a night
28:00what a long way to be
28:02in that game
28:04hopefully the boys can turn up
28:07for Iheanacho
28:08they come off a hand there
28:10it's still Iheanacho
28:19the cup is going back to
28:21the back head
28:25he's been the super salve so often
28:28in this wonderful end of the season
28:33and Kelechi Iheanacho
28:36settles it
28:38I mean there was a shout for a handball
28:40when he slides across
28:42Iheanacho
28:43I mean
28:44it's a goal you see in training
28:45he's so calm
28:46dancing in and out
28:48the defenders
28:49he just felt that when he came on
28:51how hungry he would be
28:53to get himself a goal
28:54and get on the score sheet
28:56he does brilliantly
28:58just quick feet
29:01desperate to put it in the back of the net
29:02and that settles it
29:04confirming good start to the second half
29:08certainly Celtic
29:09comes strong again
29:10and no surprise that Iheanacho
29:11has the ball in the back of the net
29:13once again
29:18twinkle-toed Nigerian
29:21ensures that Celtic will get their hands on the cup again
29:26they've won it more than anyone else
29:30beaten in last year's final
29:34they're going to get their trophy back now
29:36that is beyond question
29:38in the meantime
29:41Sebastian Tenekhte will replace Jan
29:45for the final 15-16 minutes
29:49of what's going to be a canter now
29:55they're also going to take Alex Oxley-Chamberlain on
29:58for Negren
30:09former Arsenal and Liverpool man
30:14knocks his way onto the pitch
30:16he arrived at Celtic after a couple of years at Besiktas in Turkey
30:20when he fell out of favour under Giovanni van Bronckhorst
30:26scored here before
30:29that 2-2 draw to Scotland for England there
30:33in the qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup
30:37and indeed at Celtic Park
30:39in England colours
30:40friendly
30:50Tenekhte on as well
30:51it's been a strange season
30:54for Sebastian Tenekhte
30:55the
30:56Tunisia international
30:57he's
30:57in and out of the team
30:59he's made an impact
31:00every now and again
31:01on other occasions
31:02he's flattered to deceive
31:03but
31:04I feel there's definitely something there
31:09Celtic signings this season have worked
31:11indeed the January signings
31:13nowhere to be seen really
31:15yeah I think Tenekhte's one
31:17he looks better when he comes on
31:19he's a sub
31:20as opposed to starting the game
31:23Oxley-Chamberlain
31:24he normally comes on for
31:26Callum McGregor
31:27or playing a deeper role
31:28but he's playing more advanced
31:29just a straight slot for Negren
31:32his roots almost
31:33more of an attacker
31:34in his younger days
31:35Oxley-Chamberlain
31:46in the opening 15-20 minutes
31:48of the second half
31:49Neil Lennon would have been much
31:50happier
31:51with what he was seeing
31:52from his players
31:53but
31:53you always knew
31:55at some point Celtic
31:56would wrestle the game back
31:58absolutely
31:59it would be disappointed
32:00with the performance
32:01in the first half
32:03you can put it down to
32:03maybe the occasion
32:05getting the better
32:05Celtic were really good
32:07but certainly they've shown
32:09a better reaction
32:10to the second half
32:11but you're right
32:12you were speaking about
32:13Celtic and putting in
32:14a 90 minute performance
32:15you just know that
32:17the Ferman had made the changes
32:18they've gone two up
32:19they've been aggressive
32:19they've tried to get the ball forward
32:21they have caused problems
32:22but you just feel that Celtic
32:23this team
32:23they just figure it out
32:24they find a way
32:25Ian Atchow coming on
32:26has certainly helped
32:28spark that as well
32:30and
32:30it was always going to be
32:32a monumental task
32:33for the Ferman
32:34to get themselves
32:34back into the game
32:35in terms of
32:36having a realistic chance
32:37of winning it
32:38but the expected Celtic
32:39would find a way
32:41again
32:41to get back control
32:43in the game
32:43and they've done that
32:55Josh Cooper's coming on
33:05there's not much
33:06anyone can do
33:10with 12 and a half
33:11of the 90 left to play
33:12and you're 3-0 behind
33:17it's the first half
33:18that's killed them
33:19ultimately
33:19done Ferman
33:22you can forgive them
33:24championship side
33:25up against the
33:26country's champions
33:27the team that's won the
33:30top flight so often
33:31it's the toughest challenge
33:33in Scottish football
33:34you can understand them
33:36being a bit like the rabbit
33:37in the headlights
33:37there in that first half
33:39and that's when it got
33:40away from them
33:44Celtic have absolutely
33:45taken advantage of it
33:48good run by
33:49Chiloko Amalan
33:51he'll be doing well
33:52to hang on to him
33:53in summer
33:54he's going to have
33:55top flight interest
33:57I would have thought
33:58yeah
33:58I would have imagined so
34:00another good young player
34:02young players in the team
34:04great potential
34:06there's one coming off
34:08in Andrew Todd
34:11he's replaced by
34:25Josh Cooper
34:26talking about Chiloko Amalan's
34:27future
34:28Gwena has been
34:30spoken about
34:31dispatches for a move
34:33in Chester and Andrew Todd
34:34as well
34:35I would have thought
34:37Cooper's waiting in the middle
34:38for this and there are others
34:39arriving
34:39Cooper he's just gone
34:41he's pulled one back
34:47maybe
34:49just maybe
34:51Dunkermann are not
34:52done yet
34:54well
34:54what an impact
34:56from Cooper
34:57Andrew Todd
34:58he'll be sitting on the bench
34:59thinking I wish I was
34:59still on for that opportunity
35:01but it's a great play
35:02from Dunkermann
35:03Chris Kane
35:05Rudden linking up
35:06it's a good run into the box
35:08I actually don't run
35:09there's anything about getting a shot away
35:11but it's a lovely little cutback
35:14Cooper in the right place
35:16at the right time
35:18sweep it into the net
35:20as they've given their fans
35:22if they don't manage the amount of comebacks
35:24something to shout about
35:26in the Scottish Cup final
35:33offside check
35:33ongoing at the moment
35:34Josh Cooper
35:36that stands
35:37it's his seventh
35:38of the season
35:40rejoined
35:41the club
35:42from Sterling Albion
35:53is going to stand
35:57is going to stand
35:58is going to stand
35:58so Cooper has won back
35:59for the bars
36:00with 10 to play
36:02this is not what anyone
36:03wants to see right now
36:04when you think about the big summer
36:05we've just been talking about
36:08no it's not
36:14he was caught there
36:16wasn't he
36:17he was
36:31I think the view
36:32from the officials
36:34is that the players
36:36were crossing paths
36:36there rather than
36:39foul
36:41against
36:41Unferman
36:43that's a special moment
36:44for Cooper
36:45for sure
36:45Celtic will win the Scottish Cup
36:47by the looks of things
36:48but for him personally
36:50you can now see
36:51he's scored in a Scottish Cup final
36:52absolutely
36:53right in front of the bars fans as well
36:54exactly
36:55and also he'd have been
36:57sent on by that man
36:58Neil Lennon
36:59saying go and have an impact
37:01in the game
37:04maybe take him off
37:05one touch
37:06one goal
37:06doesn't get much better
37:08than that does it
37:11well the scales was passing
37:13the ball thinking
37:14Tierney was back in the game
37:15he wasn't
37:16if the Ireland scored again
37:17then they will be back in the game
37:27Tierney's back on for now
37:28but
37:30Marcelo Serrachi's going to
37:31replace him at the next
37:31break in play
37:40it's not often you say it
37:41but there's another one
37:41that comes on at left back
37:43and has such a positive influence
37:45on the team
37:45when he comes on
37:46Serrachi
37:48I thought he did well last week
37:49when he came on
37:49against Parks
37:51it's the Celtic
37:51but not the win the game
37:52and the league
37:55it says a lot about Serrachi
37:56as a person
37:57as well
37:58because he's happy to play
37:59second fiddle
38:00Kieran Tierney
38:01comes on
38:01his attitude's always spot on
38:03desperate to get him forward
38:05they drive forward
38:05they go into midfield
38:06they take the ball
38:08it's a real positive energy
38:09that he brings to the team
38:10when he comes on
38:13he's on loan from Boca Juniors
38:15I don't think Celtic
38:16are keen to keep him
38:18I'm not so sure
38:19I mean you're talking about
38:20he's sitting there
38:21in his role as the deputy
38:23but
38:23I'm not sure that would be enough
38:25to convince him to hang around
38:27being Tierney's first choice
38:31he'll come down
38:32Fernland again
38:33Kearney
38:37we've got Kane
38:38and Rodden waiting
38:42it's too high for Kane
38:44but Gilmer's going to pick it up
38:47back in by Fraser
38:49back in by Tierney
38:53here's Joe Cormillon
38:56Kane for Rodden
39:00Sherland are knocking on the door here
39:03they've got a corner
39:04and if they score now
39:07what an interesting
39:08climax we are
39:09set for
39:10well the goal's given them belief
39:11that they can
39:12they can get themselves
39:13back into it
39:14response has been excellent
39:17putting Celtic under
39:18a fair bit of pressure here
39:22Matty Todd
39:23so often he's delivered
39:24this season
39:27can he come up with here
39:30Jericho O'Holland
39:30does win the head arm
39:32but
39:32it's not threatening
39:33Sinisalo
39:37it's a straight delivery
39:39once again
39:39just clicked in
39:40driven in with Matty Todd
39:43he gets up early
39:44but just can't get it out
39:56Chris Cairns down out of your picture
39:57Kearney's afternoon's over
40:02it's going to be
40:03a league and cup double
40:04by the looks of things
40:05at the end of his first season
40:06back
40:07it was Greg Taylor
40:10who was the
40:12left back a year ago
40:13in the final
40:15here comes
40:16Serrachi
40:26and the Uruguayan
40:37you just wonder
40:38if Neil Lennon will be
40:39when he speaks to us afterwards
40:41if he'll
40:43talk about
40:45having regrets
40:46about
40:46the starting 11
40:47when you think of the impact
40:49Chris Cairns made
40:51yeah
40:52but
40:53I think that
40:54when you go in
40:55hindsight
40:56you're always looking and saying
40:57you know
40:58could you have changed it
40:59I think that
41:00you know
41:00the game plan to go and
41:01put Oakley Booth on
41:03Calabar McGregor
41:04trying to stop that influence
41:07and I can understand it
41:08but you can see the difference
41:10having Cairns and Ruddon
41:11together
41:11it doesn't happen very often
41:13to go and be
41:14a nuisance
41:15most of the time
41:16that focal point
41:17non-stop running
41:19and be a threat
41:20and get your team up the pitch
41:21maybe it was just a case of
41:23try and keep it
41:25either at 0-0
41:261-0
41:26give yourself a chance
41:27to then throw them on
41:29if they had to put them on
41:30in other than they would have liked
41:31but
41:31I think that
41:32you can always regret things
41:34in hindsight
41:43stay tuned for them
41:44looking for Ian Hachal
41:45which goes on to it
41:59you can always wait for them
42:04to be a good saeb
42:04come here
42:05to be a good kind of a good
42:21One thing you would say is the quality of goal in this Cup Final has been excellent, hasn't it?
42:24It has, and you know, Delferman coming out in the sector has made it more of a contest.
42:31There has been some good bits of quality in there.
42:39Ingles, don't mind that.
42:46Well, if he does leave Celtic this summer, he is going to be so hard to replace.
42:52He's not...
42:54I'm not sure how you go about finding someone who's going to offer the same as Dyson Maida does.
42:59They're not getting light for light, that's for sure.
43:02Such a unique play in how he plays the game and the impact he has on the team.
43:07So Martin O'Neill talking about Maida earlier in the season,
43:11you know, let the cat out of the bag about him missing out on a move to Wolfsburg in Germany
43:14last summer.
43:16And he was playing like somebody who wanted a win, was annoyed that he hadn't got his move.
43:22My goodness, he screwed the nut at the right time for Celtic as the season's gone on.
43:27Yeah, he did, but what I would say to that is, sort of the whole team, they were underperforming.
43:33It always was highlighted because it looked like he wanted a move, but what's everybody else's excuse then?
43:40It's in by Eggles, too much on it though.
43:54As it stands, there's going to be four minutes added on at the end of this cut final.
44:08Gandon Fairland give themselves hope.
44:16Celtic so close to yet another major honour.
44:21And this has been far from a vintage season, but it could end up being a double winning season.
44:31To the mere mortals, that is history.
44:34To Celtic, it's clearly success, but when they look back at all the glory that they've had in the last
44:4415 years,
44:44this is not going to go down as a vintage season for them, despite the fact it's going to end
44:48with two trophies by the look of it.
44:50Yeah, I remember when a double used to be an unbelievable achievement.
44:53Yeah.
44:54A bit like they deserve a lot of credit because it looked like they were out of the title race,
44:59they could get themselves over the line when it mattered, but they've managed to turn that around.
45:06Well done.
45:07It's a sight of goal that didn't catch the shot, and that made it simple for Sinisalo,
45:12and Dunfermline really needed that to go in, you feel?
45:15Yeah, they did.
45:16To make it potentially nervy, end into the game, they did, but he doesn't really ever catch it.
45:24Rodden, never trouble in Sinisalo.
45:36Run into the first of the four at the end.
45:43Martin O'Neill has won this tournament three times before.
45:48Beating Kilmarnock, Dunfermline and Dundee United in the finals.
45:52They lost the 2002 final to Rangers, and in 2003 they lost to Callie Thistle.
46:01John Robertson and Dennis Ryan is his goal.
46:04Generally, this has been a tournament that O'Neill's enjoyed.
46:09As he says himself, it's the final loss that weighs in his mind more in three than he won.
46:16As Kugler swings it in, away by Trusty.
46:19Here's Gilmore.
46:22It's loose, it's Maida, and Celtic finished with a flourish as they did last week.
46:26Maida's found Kelechi and Acho.
46:29And Nguyen has done well, you can see he's trying to suck the defender in and hold him off.
46:34It didn't work though.
46:36Yeah, he just couldn't get away.
46:38Maida...
46:38That being the other way around, it would have been different.
46:41Yeah, well, absolutely.
46:42There was no one catching Maida there, but...
46:45Ian actually just...
46:47I didn't have the pace to get away from Nguyen there.
46:50Maida does brilliantly.
46:58These are for Madi.
47:07And that gives us a perfect opportunity to find out who James McFadden's man of the match is.
47:13I mean, it's not been easy, I'm not going to lie.
47:15But I think that for his work rate in the midfield area, scored a goal.
47:19I'm going to go for Arnie Engels.
47:21I think a lot of the work that he does goes unnoticed and maybe underappreciated.
47:25This is one thing we know he's absolutely wrong.
47:28Yeah, he could look at Oxford and he could go and look at IFA.
47:31But great technique.
47:32I think his energy, his industry in the midfield.
47:37So for me, he's been my man of the match today, Arnie Engels.
48:05Well, it's been a tough old route to the final for Celtic.
48:08They made hard work of it.
48:09Even Auchinleck and Talbot were almost knocked out.
48:12They were seconds from being knocked out by Dundee.
48:15And they made the absolute most of it.
48:18Of course, taken to extra time by St Mirren when two nil up in the semis.
48:24Tenecte.
48:25And Oxlade-Chamberlain is waiting.
48:32Nicholls digs it out, it's an advantage for Celtic.
48:36Sebastian Tenecte.
48:38Oh, and Maida was there.
48:40Seracchi is as well.
48:44Maida's waiting to pull the trigger there.
48:46That's a vital header at the back post.
48:49Kierney.
48:51Massively important.
48:53Stay switched on.
48:54Good positioning.
48:56Just takes it off.
48:58Maida.
48:59Actually, no surprises getting up in the end.
49:02And another player that I haven't even mentioned today, Arsler Johnson.
49:06Him coming back for Celtic, it's been absolutely huge.
49:13Yeah, not just defensively, but offensively as well.
49:16He is a really important player for the Celtic side.
49:22He was out for such a long time in that botched comeback.
49:28They're just about there again.
49:33And once again, the Scottish Cup belongs to Celtic.
49:40O'Neill and Lennon embrace.
49:46Friends, former colleagues.
49:52The teacher and the pupil.
49:57And it's the teacher who comes out on top.
49:59Martin O'Neill's champions double up.
50:01And bring the trophy back to Parkhead for a 43rd time.
50:05And 13th this century.
50:08It is a 14th league in Scottish Cup double.
50:13And 122nd major honour for a club that is a winning machine.
50:19O'Neill at the age of 74.
50:22Becomes the second oldest manager to win the trophy.
50:26Behind only Bill Struth.
50:28He was 77 when he won his 10th Scottish Cup in 1953.
50:33And it comes 21 years after O'Neill last got his hands on it.
50:38What a story it is for him.
50:41They have beaten Dunfermline to end what has been a rollercoaster of a season
50:46that saw them exit the Champions League in the qualifiers.
50:49The unseemly departure of the legendary Brendan Rodgers.
50:53The Wilfred Nancy debacle.
50:55And losing the League Cup final here to St. Mary's in December.
50:59Yet from the ashes, they have salvaged more glorious success
51:03to add to what has been a remarkably successful 15 years.
51:08They've won 31 of the last 45 major honours available in Scottish football.
51:14And once again, despite all the trials and tribulations,
51:18the bitter infighting, statement tennis between the fans and the board,
51:24and leaving it late way too often for the manager's liking.
51:28They are top dogs once more.
51:32In what has been one of their poorer seasons.
51:35They have won a double.
51:37No matter what was thrown at them.
51:39No matter the wrong turns they took along the road.
51:43They have emerged with more silverware.
51:45And if this is to be the end of the road for O'Neill at Celtic, what a way to
51:49go out.
51:52I know people were worried about his legacy.
51:56When he replaced Rodgers in the autumn.
51:59And when he came back in after Nancy.
52:03Well, he's taken his trophy haul from seven to nine.
52:06And has further enhanced his own Celtic legacy.
52:10And for that, the club will owe him a debt of gratitude.
52:15Neil Lennon left to wonder what might have been.
52:18It's been a wonderful journey for them in this season's tournament.
52:23Beating Hibbs, Aberdeen and Falkirk.
52:25All top flight clubs.
52:27To get back to the Scottish Cup final.
52:31But it's more heartache for them.
52:33Just over a week after they were knocked out of the playoffs.
52:38The goals from Maida, Engels and Iheanacho.
52:43I've seen Celtic prevail.
52:45James McFadden.
52:47And for Martin O'Neill, personally, it's an incredible story.
52:51Oh, absolutely.
52:52I think that, you know, showing that it's not a young man's game.
52:57As many people think it is.
52:59Showing that if you come in and you've got the right mentality and management skills.
53:04You can go in and be successful.
53:08James thought Arne Engels was the man of the match.
53:10And the man of the match is with...
