00:00The Bureau of Fire Protection is conducting further investigations to identify the cause of fire

00:05which ignited a room containing DPWH's financial records in her office in Baguio City.

00:11PTV Cordillera correspondent Jezreel Kate Lapizar tells us more.

00:17At around 5.25 p.m., a fire broke out at the office of the Department of Public Works and Highways Cordillera

00:24located at Engineers Hill, Baguio City.

00:27Security personnel and DPWH driver were the first to respond,

00:32using fire extinguishers in an attempt to control the blaze.

00:36Firefighters later arrived and the fire was completely extinguished at 5.43 p.m.

00:42The fire affected an estimated one square meter of the financial management records room.

00:49Dahil sa pag-agaran ng pag-responde ng mga empleyado,

00:52is naprevent nila lumaki and turnover na lang nila sa mga responding unit natin

00:57during the pagdating ng mga Baguio City Fire Station personnel.

01:02No employees were injured in the incident, but damage is estimated at around 35,000 pesos.

01:09The Bureau of Fire Protection is conducting further investigation to determine the cause of the fire.

01:15This is under investigation pa rin, so nagkakuha pa rin tayo ng mga needed na evidence and materials na nakuha natin doon

01:25and di i-hand carry po natin papunta sa National Headquarters for laboratory examination.

01:31The PTV News team attempted to get a statement from DPWH officials, but they declined to comment.

01:38It remains unclear which documents were affected by the fire.

01:42According to Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong,

01:45no DPWH employees are allowed to enter while awaiting the investigators from the DPWH Central Office.

01:53Police officers are also stationed in the area to ensure that no unauthorized individuals can access the fire scene.
