00:27UMNO Youth Chief Dr Akmal Saleh has announced his resignation

00:31as the Melaka Executive Council effective next week

00:34to fight DAP to the end.

00:36Akmal said this at the UMNO Youth General Assembly,

00:39adding that he had discussed the matter with

00:41Party President Ahmad Zayed Al-Hamidi

00:44and Melaka Chief Minister Abdul Raouf Yusoh.

00:47Akmal, who is currently the Melaka Executive Council

00:50for Rural Development, Agriculture and Food Security,

00:53also said that he would remain as UMNO Youth Chief,

00:56as Zayed and Raouf had advised him that a warrior never desert his friends.

01:02He said he remained unfazed by criticism and pressure from his rivals,

01:06insisting that he would not shave his thumbs on the issues,

01:09adding that DAP had challenged him to resign,

01:12but they are the ones who are piggybacking on the Barisa National-led Melaka Government.

01:17The Outspoken UMNO Youth Chief has frequently locked horns with the AP leaders over various issues,

01:23despite the two parties being allies in the Federal and State Government.
