Ties between US and Europe 'disintegrating,' Germany's Vice Chancellor Klingbeil warns

00:00Germany's Vice Chancellor Lars Klingbeil has warned that Europe's ties with the United States are disintegrating.
00:08Klingbeil pointed to what he called a historic period of upheaval under US President Donald Trump's administration.
00:16He cited several reasons why he came to his conclusion,
00:20including Washington's recent raid on Caracas in which it captured Venezuela's Nicolas Maduro.
00:25He also cited Trump's threats to take control of Greenland,
00:31his administration's comments in its national security strategy claiming that Europe was facing
00:36quote, civilizational erasure and warned for a decay in the shared interest in free trade and open markets.
00:43The Vice Chancellor said he had become even more convinced in recent days.
00:48Just this week, Klingbeil visited Washington with Germany's Foreign Minister Johan Wadfel.
