00:00When you look at the Mets starting rotation as it stands right now, how would you assess it overall?
00:05It does seem like the Mets do have that clear number one with Nolan McLean, but the overall
00:10quality is not quite of a contender yet. When it comes to the playoffs, they rule by their
00:16first three arms for the most part. The SP5 is really just to get you through the season,
00:20maybe as a backup long relief. It's really about, okay, you have your anchor and you have your two
00:24guys that are really going to keep you close in that game. And I can't really pinpoint who those
00:28are at the moment for the Mets. You had last year, Clay Holmes and Shamanai even doing a piggyback
00:32by the end of the year. You have Kodai Senga as the biggest question mark for me. And during the
00:37season, as we did not have that ace-like performance after he came back from the hamstring strain last
00:42year, it's not really too promising at the moment. It's a rotation that can get through the season,
00:48absolutely. But when it comes to the aspirations of a team in New York, the Mets right now are just
00:53missing that little extra something. I'm not convinced that they have that in their farm at
00:59the moment, that there's someone ready for a massive breakout this year to be that. So I would
01:03very much say that the Mets are missing a key piece in this rotation.
