00:00Plans to turn a former care home into flats have been scaled back after criticism from
00:06council planners. An earlier proposal to create nine flats at Abbeyfield House on Churchill
00:11Road in Tettinall were refused by City of Wolverhampton Council. Planners said the scheme
00:18was excessive for a quiet residential area, would harm the conservation area and add to
00:24parking pressure. A revised application has now been submitted for five flats instead,
00:29developers say the new mix would house the same number of people but in fewer
00:33units overall. The updated plans will now be considered by the council in the coming
00:38weeks. The earlier refusal also cited limited garden space, bins and cycle storage.
