00:01U.S. President Donald Trump doubled down on his threats to take Greenland, whether they, quote, like it or not.
00:10Several were arrested during an anti-ice demonstration in Minneapolis as public scrutiny over the killing of Renee Good-Rose.
00:21U.S. President Donald Trump doubled down on his threats to take Greenland, whether they, quote, like it or not.
00:29Speaking during a meeting with oil executives at the White House on Friday, Trump said that if the U.S. didn't do something, China or Russia would occupy Greenland.
00:38I'm not talking about money for Greenland yet. I might talk about that.
00:43But right now we are going to do something on Greenland, whether they like it or not, because if we don't do it, Russia or China will take over Greenland.
00:54And we're not going to have Russia or China as a neighbor.
00:56Trump frequently cites national security interests as a reason for his intentions towards Greenland.
01:10Following recent U.S. attacks on Venezuela and the capture of its president during a military operation,
01:16concerns have now been growing about what the U.S. may be planning for the self-governing territory of Denmark.
01:21At least three people were arrested in the early hours of Saturday during an anti-ice demonstration in Minneapolis.
01:32The protest comes amid wider rallies against U.S. immigration enforcement and over the fatal shooting of the 37-year-old Renee Good.
01:40The woman was shot and killed by an ICE agent during an immigration raid in a residential street.
01:46Videos circulating online appear to show Good trying to flee the scene.
01:50But members of Trump's administration, including the U.S. president himself, have repeatedly defended ICE, claiming the woman had tried to run over the officer.
01:59However, the release of new footage that shows the shooting of Good from the perspective of the ICE agent that shot her brought fresh scrutiny.
02:06In the video, Good can be heard saying, that's fine, I'm not mad at you, when the officer passes by her door.
02:13That's fine, dude. I'm not mad at you, boy.
02:15When other officers approach her car and demand her to get out, Good reverses briefly, turns her steering wheel towards the passenger side, and proceeds to drive forward.
02:26This is when the agent opened fire.
02:28As Good's car loses control and speeds off, one of the officers can be heard uttering a profanity, what seems to be directed at Good, in exchange that further heightened public anger.
02:39A qualified majority of member states gave the green light on Friday to the trade deal with Mercosur.
02:53The vote ends more than two decades of difficult negotiations between the EU and a group of Latin American countries, Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay, as well as years of internal EU division.
03:05France, Poland, Austria, Hungary, Ireland voted against, while Belgium abstained.
03:11The deal's opponents warned this agreement would expose EU farmers to unfair competition from Latin American agricultural imports.
03:19In recent months, the Commission has added concessions aimed at appeasing farmers and securing the crucial support of Italy,
03:25including early excess to 45 billion euros in common agricultural policy funds from 2028, and a freeze of the EU's carbon border tax on fertilizers.
03:37Friday's vote opens the way for the EU to sign the agreement, with Commission President expected to travel to Latin America soon.
03:44The EU conclusion procedure, however, also requires the consent of the European Parliament.
03:50In a rare move, NASA is cutting a mission about the International Space Station short after an astronaut had a medical issue.
04:02The space agency said Thursday the United States' Japanese-Russian crew of four will return to Earth in the coming days earlier than planned.
04:11The medical incident was sufficient enough that we were concerned about the astronaut, that we would like to complete that workup.
04:19And the best way to complete that workup is on the ground, where we have the full suite of medical testing hardware.
04:27The space agency did not identify the astronaut or the medical issue, citing patient privacy.
04:34The crew member is now stable.
04:36NASA cancelled its first spacewalk of the year because of the health issue.
04:41The crew of four returning home arrived at the orbiting lab via SpaceX in August for a stay scheduled to last at least six months.
