00:06reaching around 12.8 billion cubic metres in 2025.

00:15On today's programme, we're looking at energy security, Azerbaijan's expanding global role.
00:30Azerbaijan is significant when it comes to energy security.
00:33We've certainly seen globally that it has definitely become more prominent.
00:38How important then are Azerbaijan's export corridors to European energy diversification?
00:46I would say that they are extremely important for European energy diversification and for us as well.
00:56We are a landlocked country.
00:58Not so many oil and gas producers in the world do not have access to the open seas.
01:05And how has that geopolitical uncertainty reshaped international partnerships from your perspective?
01:15Because you must have seen quite a dramatic change over the last few years.
01:19The change for us is that we are dealing with more and more countries.
01:25We are dealing with more and more partners in those countries whom we are supplying,
01:32from whom we are getting services and technologies.
01:37These energy corridors are very, very important, aren't they, in terms of energy diversification?
01:44Sokar, on behalf of the country, operates all of the oil and gas pipeline going out of Azerbaijan,
01:53including Bakud Bilisejiehan, including South Caucasus pipeline,
01:56which is very important for our neighbours.
01:59Our arteries, which are connecting us with the rest of the world.
02:02What guarantee do you have that if you take the lead, which you're doing, that that transfer will be secure?
02:13The best security you can provide is your openness and ability to live and work together in the changing world,
02:25are having and keeping, maintaining the good relationships, primarily with your neighbours,
02:31but basically with those with whom you have long-term partner relationships.
02:40The Southern Gas Corridor stretches around 3,500 kilometres,
02:44linking the Caspian Sea to European markets through one of the world's most significant energy infrastructure projects.
02:51But energy security isn't measured by numbers alone.
02:54Behind every export route are thousands of kilometres of pipelines,
02:59sophisticated monitoring systems and the people responsible for keeping them operating safely every hour of every day.
03:06Azerbaijani Energy reaches Europe through a three-pipeline network.
03:11Once in the European system, gas flows across an interconnected network,
03:15supplying countries from Greece and Bulgaria to Romania, Hungary, Germany and Austria.
03:21Italy remains the largest customer, importing around nine and a half billion cubic metres of gas in 2025,
03:28covering roughly 16% of Italy's total gas imports.
03:41Our priority is very simple.
03:43Transportation of crude oil to our customers, safely, reliable, uninterrupted and inefficiently.
03:51Technical challenges, pipeline system operate continuously and over long distances,
03:56so maintaining high standard integrity and reliability require from the team constant monitoring.
04:04In our industry, precision is essential.
04:06This is because even a small deviation can have significant impact to our safety, efficiency and operational performance.
04:18Many people see pipelines as simple infrastructure,
04:22but in reality, this is very highly complex systems requiring skill expertise, technology and coordination.
04:32Behind every barrel of transported oil, there is a dedicated strong team, advanced technology
04:38and the most important, our commitment to support global and regional energy security.
04:45Energy security is about more than resources.
04:48It's about resilience, partnerships and trust.
