00:00Let's talk a little bit about NATO, because we must remember that Greenland, one of the biggest islands in the world, is, of course, run by Denmark, and it is a NATO country.
00:12So right now, I thought what Meta Fredrickson said, that if the U.S. does go in and annex Greenland, that would sort of be the end of the NATO alliance, because we've not seen a NATO country attack a NATO country.
00:27So it's sort of uncharted territory, isn't it, Dr. Eli?
00:30Definitely. I do believe that Trump, since his first term, has challenged the NATO so much and have shown that he doesn't care much about NATO, but definitely the Europeans do.
00:40And definitely he cannot completely disregard the potential of breaking up the NATO.
00:47It will be detrimental to the U.S. foreign policy in general.
00:50I think he will think more seriously and think twice or maybe ten times before he actually takes an aggressive action against an NATO country, much more than he did towards Venezuela or potentially other countries.
01:06It's a different ballgame, but again, can they reach some kind of an agreement under pressure, under coercive diplomacy, to try, yes, to get the military bases he wants, to get the strategic depth he wants towards the whole new passage routes that are being created there towards Russian presence in the northern Atlantic and so on,
01:28but also towards minerals and resources that are in Greenland, which obviously is also what he is looking for.
01:34If he can get it in that way, probably it will not lead to a confrontation.
01:38And this is what I would be more favorable towards thinking will happen soon.
