00:00And President Trump insists he needs Greenland for national security and says it's vital for the Golden Dome the U.S. is building.
00:09Do China and Russia pose a real threat?
00:13Well, if we actually look at what happens in the Arctic, it's very unclear what Trump is actually talking about,
00:20because there are no ships sailing around Greenland and there are no real ambitions from neither Russia nor China to actually take Greenland in a hostile takeover, understood in military terms.
00:33And I think everybody would also soon realize if you convert to land troops in Greenland, it would soon evolve into a search and rescue operation simply because of the desires of Greenland.
00:43But what the fear is right now when it comes to especially the Chinese question is whether Chinese companies are allowed into Greenland.
00:52And that might pose a threat seen from American perspective.
00:55But again, as it stands right now, there are really no American investors that have been interested in trying to get into Greenland in a large scale.
01:04So therefore, Greenland as a country is seeking cooperation partners.
01:08And these might be Americans, but again, we haven't seen big American offers to actually go in and try to help the Greenland economy.
