00:01NATO has entered the Greenland crisis, seeking to deter Trump from his plans to annex the island by proposing a military plan to deploy a force in the Arctic.
00:12A report by The Telegraph said that London has begun consultations with European allies, including Germany and France, to explore the possibility of launching a NATO mission in Greenland.
00:25The mission would include the deployment of troops, warships, and aircraft, or the conduct of military exercises and long-term intelligence cooperation.
00:37The move aims to protect Greenland from any Russian or Chinese threats, and to strip Washington of the security justification for annexing the island.
00:47European countries hope that strengthening the military presence in the region will persuade Trump to back away from the idea of annexing Greenland, which he has threatened to pursue by force if necessary.
