00:00Big cook, little cook, welcome to our cafe.
00:07Big cook, little cook, want you to come and play.
00:14Meeting all the friends we cook for, sharing stories, trips and fun.
00:23Big cook, little cook, we'll cook for everyone!
00:29Oh, it's a beautiful night tonight, isn't it, Small?
00:35It's amazing! The sky looks so clear and the stars look so near.
00:42Oh, hello everyone! Welcome to our cafe!
00:47The best cafe in the world! Hello everyone!
00:51It's very late.
00:53We really shouldn't be awake.
00:55But we're stargazing.
00:57Look at those tiny little twinklers.
01:00It's funny, Ben, but some of the stars seem to be making patterns.
01:04Hmm, well, Small, groups of stars clumped together are called constellations.
01:10See that one up there?
01:12That's called the little bear.
01:14Is it?
01:15Yes, and people called astronomers study the stars and sometimes they even get to name the stars.
01:23It's just that the little bear doesn't look like a bear at all. It looks more like one of our saucepans.
01:29You're right, Small. It should be called the little saucepan.
01:33Hey, would you like to hear a wishing poem all about stars?
01:37Oh, a wishing poem!
01:40Star light, star bright, the first star I see tonight.
01:45I wish I may, I wish I might, have the wish I wish tonight.
01:50Now, wish on the first star you see, and then in the morning see if it comes true.
01:56OK, let's see. I found my star, and I'm making my wish. Done it!
02:07Now, come on, Small, we'd better go to bed, otherwise we'll be all grumpy in the morning.
02:12Oh, dear! We've overslept!
02:24Small, we've overslept, and now we've got a customer. Quick!
02:27Don't worry, Ben. I'll see who it is.
02:31I'm on my way!
02:33Woo-hoo!
02:39Who is it today, Small?
02:41Well, it's someone who studies the night sky.
02:44Hmm, I think I need another clue.
02:47OK. She has a special instrument for looking at the stars.
02:51And when you look through it, the stars look bigger.
02:54It's called a telescope.
02:56Is it Astrid the astronomer, Stargazer Extraordinaire?
03:00You're right, Ben. But what do astronomers like to eat?
03:04I think it's time to look in my book.
03:06We need a story to help us cook.
03:18Let's take a look in Little Cook's book.
03:21Little Cook's Adventures in the Big World. Let me see.
03:25There was once an astronomer called Astrid.
03:31Astronomers study the night sky.
03:33Astrid loved to watch the planets and stars through her telescope.
03:37But there was just one problem.
03:40More than anything, Astrid wanted to discover something new in the sky.
03:44She searched and searched, night after night.
03:48But all the planets already had names.
03:50There was the Moon, Saturn with all its rings, Mercury and Venus.
03:56Even the stars had names, like the Polestar, the Wolf, the Scales and the Hare.
04:03How could they all have names?
04:05There must be something new to discover.
04:08Poor Astrid was becoming more and more tired.
04:12But she wouldn't give up.
04:14She stayed up night after night until she just couldn't keep our eyes open anymore.
04:19Astrid fell fast asleep.
04:23I knew I had to help her.
04:26I left Astrid to have a little sleep.
04:29Then I looked through the telescope.
04:31I could see things far, far away that I'd never seen before.
04:36I looked and looked to see if I could find something new.
04:40But no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't.
04:44I was just about to give up when I heard a really loud whooshing sound.
04:51I woke Astrid straight away and she looked through the telescope.
04:56It was a star shooting through the sky.
04:59Whoopee!
05:00Astrid had never seen this star before.
05:03At last she had made a new discovery.
05:06We decided to call the star Astrid.
05:09Astrid had never been so happy.
05:12Little Cook to the rescue once again!
05:15That was a great adventure.
05:18Oh, that was brilliant, Small.
05:21Astrid discovered a new star because of you.
05:24Oh, by the way, the wish you made last night.
05:27Has it come true?
05:28Wahey!
05:29No it hasn't yet, Ben.
05:31But anyway, we haven't got time for wishes.
05:34We need to think about what to cook for Astrid.

08:52marrows in there. Marrows are delicious. See you later. There we go. I've prepared all
09:05the ingredients and I've smartened myself up because I had to get up in quite a rush
09:09this morning. Wahey! I'm back and I found out all about marrows. They're a vegetable
09:16and they grow on the ground. Sounds great small. Well now you know all about marrows
09:22perhaps you can help me cook the marrow telescope. I'll do my best Ben. Come on
09:28then little cook. Let's get cooking. We're all ready so take a look. And we will show
09:33you how to cook.
09:37Jelly boats and pirates go. Princess pea pies. Carrot cakes and fruity smiles. And envelopes
09:44surprise. We love our cafe and we love to cook. We have a fantastic recipe book.
09:55He is big cook and he is small. Friends in our cafe we cook for them all. When your tummy
10:04gets all rumbly you're ready for a treat. You can make something delicious to eat.
10:14Have you cleaned the surfaces? Yes. Have you washed your hands? Yes. All clean and ready
10:25to cook. Do you remember the ingredients to Marrow Telescope? You do. There was a marrow. One.
10:33A red pepper. One. Cut into cubes. Onion. Half. Finely chopped. Garlic. One clove. Crushed. Tomatoes. Two. Chopped. Mushrooms. 200 grams. Chopped. Cucumber. About five slices. Feta cheese. 145 grams. Cut into cubes. And oil. One tablespoon.
10:57Whoopee. Let's get started. Right. I've got a very important job for you to do little cook.
11:03Oh goody. You're going to be the cucumber star man. You're going to cut out lots of cucumber
11:09stars using this star cutter. There you go. Thanks Ben. Oh it's big isn't it? While small star cutting
11:19I'm going to get the Marrow Telescope started. So I'm going to turn on the oven to 190 degrees Celsius
11:25gas mark five. And remember the oven is hot hot hot. So that's a job for your grown up helper to do.
11:32And so is this. I've heated the oil in a pan and now I'm going to add the onions
11:39and cook them until they start to go golden. Hey small. It's that onion smell again.
11:55Oh that smells lovely. Are you managing okay with that star cutter small?
11:59Just about Ben. There we go. My first star. Should we give us a name Ben?
12:08Oh okay then. Um. Oh right. Well I think there's a star called Princess.
12:12Okay. I named this star Princess.
12:16Hey hey. That's brilliant. These onions are ready now. So we can add the pepper.
12:23The mushrooms. The tomatoes. The tomatoes. And the garlic.
12:42And give them a good stir. Have you made any more stars yet little cook?
12:47Yes Ben. I've made one more. I named this star the crab.
12:52Keep up the good work cucumber star man. Hey hey.
12:57These vegetables are cooked now. So I can add the feta.
13:03In it goes. And then give it a good stir.
13:08I wonder if my wish upon a star will come true.
13:12Next ask your grown up helper to cut off both ends of the marrow.
13:17And then you can use a spoon to scoop out the inside of the marrow.
13:22Like this. Now this is a bit of a tricky job.
13:27You could pretend that you're a digger. Digging a big hole.
13:30Dig dig dig dig dig dig dig dig dig dig dig.
13:32Now you can scoop from both ends.
13:34Now you can scoop from both ends.
13:37Like this. Until you've made a tunnel all the way through.
13:42Like this.
13:45Hey Ben. Is there a star somewhere called small?
13:50Hmm. Well there are lots and lots of stars but I don't think there's one called small.
13:55Now it's time to fill the marrow tunnel with the vegetable mixture.
14:01So I'm going to pop a sheet of baking foil underneath and now I'm going to spoon in the vegetable mixture.
14:12There. In it goes.
14:15It should drop to the bottom of the tunnel and start to fill up.
14:22Brilliant!
14:22There we go.
14:27And now we can wrap the marrow in the tin foil.
14:35Like this.
14:38And I'm going to pop it on a baking tray on its side.
14:43It's all packed up nice and tight so we can pop it into the oven for 50 minutes.
14:48So oven gloves on. And over we go. On there. Open up the oven and pop it inside.
15:06And remember that's a job for your grown up helper to do because the oven is hot, hot, hot.
15:11I'll set the timer for 50 minutes.
15:18The marrow's cooked now and I've decorated the plate with a few of small stars.
15:29All you need to do is ask your grown up helper to cut two steps into the marrow.
15:33Like this.
15:34And it's not as hard as you might think because the marrow is nice and soft now.
15:39Hey hey small, doesn't it look yummy?
15:42Oh yes Ben and it looks just like a telescope.
15:45Hey Ben, are you sure there aren't any stars called Small?
15:49Er, yes Small. Why, what's up?
15:51It's just that I was hoping that my wish would come true.
15:54You know the wish I had before bedtime last night.
15:56Star light, star bright, the first star I see tonight.
16:03I wish I may, I wish I might.
16:06Have the wish I wish tonight.
16:08Come on then Small, we'd better send this through to Astrid the astronomer while it's still hot.
16:15One marrow telescope coming through.
16:23There, all done.
16:25So what do we do now? Can we play?
16:28Not yet. Time to clean and put away.
16:31Hooray!
16:40Wash, wipe, scrub and clean. Make the kitchen sparkle and gleam.
16:44My name's Ben, and my name's Small.
16:51We've got the cleanest kitchen of all.
16:55Tidy all the bits and pop, the things that help us do our jobs.
16:59Ingredients well put away, ready for use another day.
17:02Pots and pans will start to smell, if we don't wash them really well.
17:06And now it's clear, let's all smile, we'll be finished in a little while.
17:10All around, up and down, we've got the cleanest cafe in town.
17:25Aha, here comes the plate.
17:27Oh yes, Small.
17:29And it looks like Astrid enjoyed her marrow telescope.
17:33Look, she's left a note.
17:35What does it say? What does it say?
17:38Let's see, shall we?
17:39It says, Dear Big Cook Ben and Little Cook Small.
17:43Thank you for my scrummy, yummy, yumptious marrow telescope.
17:47It was out of this world.
17:48Whoopee!
17:50To say thank you, I have some very special news for you.
17:54I found another new star. And guess what I've called it?
17:57What does she call it? What does she call it?
18:00Oh, Little Cook, you'll never guess.
18:02Yes. She's called it Little Cook Small.
18:06She says, go and have a look. You won't be able to miss it. From Astrid the astronomer.
18:11Wow, that's unbelievable. Quick, Ben, let's go and see it at the window.
18:20There it goes. My dream came true. I wish for my own star. And look,
18:26Little Cook Small, the brightest star in the sky.
18:29Oh, so wishes really do come true. Yes, they do. See you soon.
18:37See you soon.
18:38Big Cook Little Cook. Welcome to our cafe.
18:49Big Cook Little Cook. We'll cook for everyone.
18:55We'll cook for everyone.
18:59All aboard.
