Cookery series with Big Cook Ben and foot-high Little Cook Small. In this episode, Small is writing a list and concentrating hard to think of words beginning with the letter S. Ben and Small then start singing the alphabet song but Small can’t remember what comes after the letter P.

01:12So far, I've got small, sand, saucer and snake. Oh, yes. The letter S does look like a snake, doesn't it? All wiggly.

12:53Now it's time to add the flour. In it goes. And then we stir it up again like this until
13:05we've got a nice sticky mixture. A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S,
13:19T, U, and V. What comes after V? Don't tell me. I can't remember what comes after V.
13:27Oh, you can't remember what comes after V. Right. Now, this is the fun part. I'm going
13:34to take the mixture and I'm going to use it to shape the different letters from the alphabet.
13:38OK. I'll use my nice clean hands to pick out some of the mixture and I'm going to start
13:46to shape it into the letter A. Now, this mixture is nice and thick, but if yours isn't thick
13:51enough, you can always add a little bit more flour. I'll just roll it in my hands like that
13:58and then onto a grease baking tray. And some more. There we go. The letter A.
14:19I can't remember. I can't remember what comes after V. There we are. Look at that. We've
14:31got an A, a B, and a C. Now, all we have to do is pop them into the oven. So, oven gloves
14:38on and over we go. And make sure you get your grown-up helper to put them in for you because,
14:45remember, the oven is hot, hot, hot. In they go for 25 minutes until they're golden. I'll
14:55set the timer for 25 minutes.
15:00These are cooked now and I've put them onto a cooling rack to cool down. I haven't remembered
15:09the end of the alphabet yet, Ben.
15:12Hard luck, Small. I tell you what, while we wait for these to cool down, why don't we sing
15:16the alphabet rhyme one more time?
15:18OK. Let's do it. A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U, and V,
15:33W. That's it. W. I've got it.
15:37Oh, well done, Small. You're so clever. Now, let's see if the alphabet crunch is cool enough
15:43to serve to Mrs. Meacher. She must be really hungry by now. Oh, yes. Here we go. On to
15:52the plate. There. A, B, C. Perfect. They look great. Yes, they do. Let's get them through
16:04to the best teacher in the world. Alphabet crunch coming up. So what do we do now? Can
16:16we play? Not yet. Time to clean and put away. Hooray!
16:29Wash, wipe, scrub and clean. Make the kitchen sparkle and gleam. My name's Ben and my name's
16:39all. We've got the cleanest kitchen of all. Tidy all the bits and pop. The things that
16:46help us do our jobs. Ingredients we'll put away. Ready for use another day. Pots and pans
16:51will start to smell. If we don't wash them really well. And now it's clear. Let's all
16:56smile. We'll be finished in a little while. All around. Up and down. We've got the cleanest
17:03cafe in town. Aha! Here comes the plate. Ho-ho! It looks like Mrs. Meacher enjoyed her alphabet
17:17crunch. And look, Small. She's left a note. Well, what does it say? What does it say? Let's
17:24see, shall we? It says, Dear Big Cook Ben and Little Cook Small. The alphabet crunch was
17:31delicious. As you know, I love letters, but I never expected to be able to eat them.
17:38Ho-ho-ho! To say thank you, here's a little present. What is it, Ben? What has she given
17:45us? Oh, Small. It's an alphabet book with all the letters of the alphabet in it and pictures
17:52of things that begin with those letters. Brilliant! Now I can finish off my alphabet, Ben. Come
