New research provided by a charity shows a bleak picture.

00:06between 16 and 55 cannot afford basic hygiene products, leaving them unable to live normally.
00:13Research from the Hygiene Bank has shown that about 3 out of 10 women in London have had to
00:19choose between buying enough food or hygiene products, and some have missed job interviews
00:24or work because of it. It's been described as a scandal that shouldn't exist by charity InKindDirect,
00:32which is campaigning with the Hygiene Bank to end it. A spokesperson for the Mayor of London,
00:37Sir Sadiq Khan, said he was determined to do all he can to support Londoners in the cost of living crisis.
