00:09Now, this blaze broke out just after two o'clock this morning here on Pine Street in Wynnum.
00:14It's a bayside suburb here in Brisbane.
00:16The water is just out of view down there on the bayside.
00:20Now, this fire broke out just after two.
00:23Fireies arrived shortly afterwards, and what they had ahead of them was a mammoth task.
00:28Now, authorities say that when they arrived, this home was fully engulfed by flames and
00:33had already started spreading to the neighbour's property.
00:37Miraculously, no one was injured in this blaze.
00:40There was family's home in each of these three properties that were impacted by the fire,
00:44but no one was injured.
00:46Now, we've been told the family was alerted to the fire by their dog barking.
00:51They say it was not fire alarms that woke up this family because they didn't have any.
00:56Now, we spoke earlier this morning to one of the firefighters here at the property about
01:00what he saw when he arrived.
01:02Here's what he told us.
01:03What I've heard from local police who have investigated the fire, the house had no smoke
01:07alarms.
01:08They were undergoing a renovation.
01:10So it's very important for people to remember that you must have working smoke alarms.
01:14You can't rely on the smell of smoke or the dog to wake you up.
01:17An incredibly important reminder and one that is certainly would have been helpful for this
01:23pet family, but they are so very, very lucky to have made it out uninjured.
01:28Now, of course, a massive cleanup ahead here.
01:31This fire is still smoldering behind us.
01:34There are firefighters still putting water on that blaze and they have been doing so for
01:38hours today.
01:39So certainly a very, very lucky escape for these few families.
