(LaPresse) Dopo aver lavorato parte della notte nel suo nuovo ufficio, il neosindaco di New York Zohran Mamdani è tornato al municipio in taxi intorno a mezzogiorno di giovedì per una grande inaugurazione pubblica. «A partire da oggi governeremo in modo espansivo e audace. Forse non sempre avremo successo, ma non saremo mai accusati di non avere il coraggio di provarci», ha detto Mamdani davanti a una folla esultante. «A coloro che insistono sul fatto che l’era del grande governo è finita, ascoltatemi quando dico questo: il municipio non esiterà più a usare il suo potere per migliorare la vita dei newyorkesi. Saremo esempio per il mondo», ha affermato.
