00:00We're here with Holesley boss Kevin Squire after tonight's 2-1 defeat to Elberton.
00:05Kevin, what were your thoughts?
00:07Obviously, ultimately disappointed to lose.
00:11Lose our unbeaten run, lose our home record.
00:15But look, that's football. They're an OK side.
00:20Last-minute losers, last-minute winners.
00:22Good for the winning team, gutted for the losing team.
00:25And yeah, ultimately that's my overall feeling.
00:29But when I look back at the tape tomorrow and I reflect,
00:33I think I'll be pleased of a battling team who probably fully deserved the draw.
00:39Who were a little bit unfortunate with a little fine margin that went against us.
00:44And yeah, football is fine margins, especially when good teams play each other.
00:48We just lost those couple of fine margins today, which ultimately cost us the game.
00:53Those first 70 minutes were incredibly tight with not many chances.
00:57And then it sort of burst into life in the last 20 minutes.
01:01What do you think that was down to?
01:04And obviously, how do you reflect on the last part of the game?
01:08Yeah, look, I mean, I set up the teams and I've said this from the start.
01:12And whenever I've been a manager to try and win a game.
01:14So my tactics of never to get everyone behind the ball and try and hold out.
01:21And I think it was just two teams kind of feeling each other out, not really going all in on attacking.
01:27Committing too many men, but obviously trying their best to attack with two good defences, to be fair.
01:33I give credit to them.
01:34They're an experienced side.
01:35They've got some good players and we've got some good players too.
01:38Hard teams to break down, both sides.
01:41And I think that first 70 minutes was just a bit of that.
01:44It was rough and tumble.
01:46It was good battles.
01:48It was physically a tiring game.
01:51If you didn't think there was a lot of chances there.
01:54But yeah, after the 70 minutes, once the first goal goes in, it does then open the game up a little bit.
02:00Because obviously we go 1-0 down.
02:05Dubious free kick, I'd say, on the edge of the box.
02:07But again, I'm not going to talk too much about the referee's performance.
02:12I'll look at things back and reflect myself.
02:16The free kick goes into the wall and it's the second phase.
02:19So like I say, the little moments we weren't very good at today.
02:23And that second phase fell to them, tapped it in.
02:27We then go on the attack, get a penalty.
02:30I think I've heard from a few reports that that might be a bit iffy as well.
02:33So look, the decision's worked both ways.

02:38He's dispatched that well.
02:42So 1-0.
02:42And then, yeah, the last minute one is a bit of a killer.
02:46But yeah, we move on.
02:49But how proud are you, obviously, of the fact that you've put together a nine-match unbeaten run to start the season?
02:54And now, obviously, how important is it to try and get back on the horse as quickly as possible,
02:59starting with Saturday's visit from Wendron?
03:01Yeah, you said it.
03:02I mean, incredibly proud.
03:04These players, they're on compared to what we're playing.
03:08The budgets we're dealing with, they're minuscule compared to our opponents.
03:13But I don't go on about that.
03:14I've got honest players.
03:16They're great players.
03:17They're a great bunch.
03:18I had a couple of players who pulled out on me at 4 o'clock today due to illness and work,
03:23which was disappointing, which left us a little bit light in our options.
03:27But the players who are here, I can't talk highly enough of them.
03:30And they are a great bunch, great players.
03:33They give me everything every week.
03:35And look, this is the first week we've come unstuck.
03:38But as you said, we move on.
03:40We've got a game in two days and we start a new run.
03:43Looking forward to Saturday already.
03:45And what are you expecting from Wendron at the weekend?
03:47Yeah, good side.
03:48They've been a good side for the last few years.
03:50They've been hovering around the top few.
03:52I'll do my homework in the next few days.
03:56I'll look at them a little bit more in depth.
04:00But all my focus up to now has been on Elberton.
04:02Now this is gone.
04:04Focus turns to Wendron.
