00:00So many commuters and not enough buses and in the post-Christmas travel period, the long and snaking lines of bus riders bound for the provinces are still commonplace because of the disproportionate number of public transport travelers and bus units in service to accommodate them. We have this report from Charms Espina.
00:20Claire and her cousin have been standing in line for more than an hour to catch a bus home to Marinduque. They plan to welcome the new year there with their grandparents who are no longer able to travel to Manila. Because of the long queues, they also plan to return to Metro Manila early to avoid the rush of travelers.
00:38Gina and her child are also patiently waiting in line for a trip back to Marinduque. Aside from their vacation, they will also be observing the death anniversary of her father.
00:57Long lines were also seen at another bus terminal along Edsa Camonin. Ezra and his family have been waiting for more than an hour for a bus bound for Batangas.
01:17Jane and her child are also traveling for vacation. She says the trip is their chance for family bonding.
01:37According to terminal management, there is no shortage of buses. There are simply too many passengers trying to catch up on their holiday trips.
01:44Thus, preparations have been ramped up for an even bigger influx of travelers returning from the provinces in the coming days.
01:51This is Charms Espina from the National TV Network for a new and better Philippines.
