00:05Yeah, but out of the deletion of the core, this one probably stings the least
00:09because we were all prepared for this.
00:11The writing was pretty much on the wall once they traded for Marcus Simeon.
00:14But our straight-out-of-flushing host, Dexter Henry, said it best
00:17when he was talking about the trade and this purge,
00:20you have to try and change the culture if you're David Sterns.
00:23The Mets are trying to change this core, and they're also trying to change the vibes in the locker room.
00:27And we knew the vibes were not good between Jeff McNeil and Francisco Lindor.
00:32So that wasn't going to work because Lindor is the face of the franchise.
00:36And I think what Mets fans have to try to embrace at least a bit
00:40because some are going to be sad about the fact that some of these guys are gone.
00:44But at some point, you have to try to change the culture.
00:48There you have it.
00:49But this also brings the heat and the pressure on Francisco Lindor
00:53to bring those vibes and that Mets magic back to the clubhouse.
00:57Before last season, when the Mets were winning games and going on runs
01:01with a roster that was nowhere as good or as expensive as last season,
01:06I feel like they did it because those guys looked like a team
01:09that was having fun playing with and playing for each other.
01:13Now there's just too many reports out there that have come out
01:15about altercations and confrontations between Jeff McNeil and Francisco Lindor.
01:21You can't have two of your leaders beefing in the locker room
01:24because that now creates a divide and now guys got to pick a side.
01:29A house divided cannot stand.
01:31Now I'm not blaming Jeff McNeil for anything,
01:33but when you're beefing with the star in the face of the franchise,
01:37your value better be irreplaceable.
01:39But from here on out, the crosshairs now go on Francisco Lindor.
01:44He couldn't get it done with one core,
01:46so they shipped those guys up out of here.
01:48And now they're trying to find you another one.
01:51At 32 years old in professional sports, you don't get a third.
