U.S. military assets were seen operating in Puerto Rico as Washington continues to expand its presence in the Caribbean. A U.S. Navy replenishment oiler was docked at the Port of the Americas, while military aircraft, including V-22 Ospreys and CH-53E Super Stallion helicopters, were active at Mercedita Airport in Ponce.

The activity comes amid a broader deployment ordered by the Trump administration, which has sent thousands of troops, warships, fighter jets and an aircraft carrier to the region. U.S. forces have carried out strikes against suspected drug-smuggling vessels and seized a sanctioned oil tanker near Venezuela, actions Caracas strongly denies and condemns.
