Panama and the United States carried out a joint survival and air ambulance training drill as regional tensions rise with Venezuela.
The exercise included 25 Panamanian forces and 25 U.S. Marines practicing extraction and jungle survival techniques. U.S. officials say the drill is focused on cooperation and counter-narcotics coordination, while the broader region watches rising military activity in the Caribbean and Panama Canal area.
