00:00It's not just numbers, it's people. People have died, people are suffering, people are
00:07in hospital. A good friend of mine's in hospital had a surgery yesterday. His father was executed,
00:16he couldn't even go to the funeral. Another friend, one of my son's friends, he's actually
00:21from the United States, he was here last Sunday, and he saw a policeman come under fire. And
00:27so he went to the policeman, the policeman got shot, had fallen down, and my son's friend
00:33Label Lazaroff, he knew first aid, had a treated gunshot wound, took the shirt off his back
00:39and tied a tourniquet to stem the bleeding which pretty much saved that policeman's life. And
00:48in the course of doing that he got shot as well, in the abdomen, in the thigh, he's had
00:53a few surgeries, he's got another one today. So we're talking about real people and there's
00:57a lot of suffering and pain. The support has been very touching and very much appreciated.
01:02On the leadership level, we had leaders, political leaders and religious leaders have come over
01:06the past week to show their support and in solidarity. And, you know, I was here last week with the
01:13Archbishop, the Anglican Archbishop, the Greek Orthodox Archbishop. I've got calls from Preston
01:18Mosque, I've got calls today from Rockdale Mosque, they're doing special prayers in the mosque
01:23today, in solidarity with the Jewish community. So all the faith communities are coming together
01:27in their support and we really appreciate that. And that's on a leadership level but on a grassroots
01:32level. My synagogue's out in Newtown, we've got neighbours coming through, putting flowers
01:38at the synagogue, posting notes, writing poems. It's just so touching and we appreciate it so
01:43much. And I think that practically what every Australian can do, in addition to showing their
01:48support, is also to help those widows and orphans and help those fam to rebuild their lives.
