00:04Sorry, you've been hard to get out. We'll come and find you. We know where you are.
00:28Go inside yourself, go into your heart, where all the love is, and save it.
00:39Yes, I was at the Hanukkah party. I think I'd been there for all of four minutes.
00:45I was with my little girl. She's five years old. My son and my husband had stayed home.
00:50We were at the petting zoo. We'd just moved away from the petting zoo when the gunshots started.
00:56We started running towards the beach, and it became very clear we weren't going to make it to the beach
01:00and stay alive.
01:03So we hid in a picnic area behind a small raised cement little wall.
01:08A whole bunch of us, parents and children, all the parents were on top of their children.
01:15So we were a big pile of bodies with children crawling all over us and screaming and wailing.
01:25We lay there for a really long time as the gunshots continued on and on.
01:30And at one point I started feeling wet things spraying over me and I could feel people were dying next
01:37to me.
01:38And I could hear that the gunshots were coming closer and closer.
01:43And that's when it became very clear to me that I wasn't preparing to survive. I was preparing to die.
01:48I didn't want my daughter to die with gunshots and sirens and wailing mothers and spraying flesh.
01:58I just couldn't reconcile that those would be her last moments.
02:02So I spoke really clearly into her ear and I said,
02:06My darling, go inside yourself where all the love is and stay there. Stay in your heart my baby.
02:12And she heard me and we lay there together in this heart space in the middle of horror for who
02:19knows how long.
02:20And we survived.
