00:01As much of the country continues to swelter through those summer temperatures, a severe heatwave warning is in place for Victoria.
00:09The Weather Bureau says that temperatures could reach their low 40s in parts of the state's northeast,
00:15and that is where a grass fire continues to burn out of control.
00:18The advice is to seek shelter where appropriate, and conditions can change very quickly.
00:24Overnight, that bushfire travelled in an easterly direction, and authorities say that conditions can continue to change as the day goes on.
00:32There's also a total fire ban in the west of the state, in the Mali and Wimmera forecast districts.
00:37There is some good news on the way, though, and those temperatures are expected to cool down across the weekend and into next week, with some relief for Victorians.
