00:11morning i know you're busy i don't want to keep you too long but i know that it's tax season and
00:16we got questions okay let's bring them on a lot of times i always wonder how soon can you start
00:23filing taxes you know is it is it too late like what's how early can you file or should file
00:29well the irs usually opens up mid um january but our tax office able to do um advances tax loan
00:39advances so if you have your w-2 or if you have your bookkeeping already done um if you're a small
00:44business owner you can go ahead and file those taxes if you're trying to get an advance oh i love that
00:49okay so you can start as early as the second week of january yes i love that january 2nd now barry uh

01:02you first started out did you think that it was gonna end up like this i did not i was preparing
01:07taxes you know at my kitchen table then i started to um rent out like kiosk stations and go into other
01:16businesses and provide services before i got my own place my own lease so you went through you went
01:22through the levels yes there's levels to it and i am you know proud of it i started at the bottom
01:27and now i'm at the top yeah you got your own firm now where is it located it's located 7-1-1-5 west
01:35eight mile okay in detroit but how do you feel going into this because you started back with 2009 how did
01:42it feel launching paris tax services like how did that feel for you in that moment honestly it was a
01:47new level unlocked okay yeah i knew i wanted to be an entrepreneur but i didn't know what kind of
01:54entrepreneur or i didn't know my niche you know i've always was the kid that wanted to be in charge
02:01i was the line leader so you're gonna be a leader okay which is good because a lot of times you it's
02:07scary you know going into your own business being your own woman um entrepreneur um you don't know
02:12where to start sometimes which is why i love your business because it's a one-stop shop yes now you
02:17don't just do taxes you do a little bit of everything right yes uh everything taxes individual
02:24and business tax i do life and health insurance oh clock it clock it um i'm a notary we have vip
02:32travel services and we also going to have credit repair coming to um our office early january so we're
02:40going to be starting that too rolling that out oh nice okay so if the other if it's other um people
02:46that want to get into tax services or um starting their own business how should they go about it or
02:51what would you tell them good question i would tell them to go onto my website okay because i have a free

04:51you can do more with it you know what i'm saying when you can just do more than just one time you
04:56can expand your horizon you can teach people you can do it for yourself you can help other people
05:01i love that okay yes yes so definitely make sure they need to come to your tax firm where should they
05:06be if they want to come out there to get services where should they go i am on 7 115 west 8 mile
05:12that's right before liver noise yes in detroit okay and then my last question what's the what's one of
05:19the biggest mistakes that people make around tax time one of the biggest mistakes is uh w-2 employees
05:26do not get the proper amount of taxes taken out of their paychecks so at the end of the year they may
05:36owe or they might get you know a really low refund which nobody likes a really low refund no no but
05:43that happens when you don't get the proper tax taken out oh wow and see i'm learning right now because
05:49i think that's one of my main things when i'm feeling for a job and we have to fill out those
05:53uh you know w-9s and everything i'm always confused about deductibles and dependents and
05:59all these different things so yeah whenever we're looking you want to find somebody that's loyal
06:04you want somebody that can be honest with you that teaches you and i feel like you're gonna get all
06:08that and then some at your company yes so we love to um educate our customers i know a lot of them
06:14call me year-round oh i love it hey i have a new job what should i be putting on this w-4
06:19see and that's important because you don't think about it and then sometimes you go you you depend
06:24on the people the employer and i'll just tell you anything yeah just get they just want you to get
06:28in here and work just get in here let's put one two just get in here work oh my god i love that so
06:34your advances are starting um at your company uh beginning of january is the best time if they want
06:40to reach what six thousand they give us six thousand them things we have advances up to six
06:45thousand dollars starting january 2nd oh so i'm excited about that it's like getting your taxes
06:52early like yes why do you have to wait get in advance get it now do what you have to do yeah it's
06:56like an early christmas gift yes or late if you think about it but yeah tax miss okay yes i love that
