00:00Hey guys, we're here with Erica Henningsen.
00:04She plays Katie in the new Broadway production
00:08of Mean Girls based on the amazing film Mean Girls.
00:12So I think the first most important question is,
00:16can you define fetch for me?
00:17Fetch.
00:19What is fetch?
00:20Fetch.
00:21Fetch is this, fetch is something that if you are fetch,
00:25you don't have to worry what anybody says about you.
00:27If you're fetch, you can just walk down the street
00:30and know that I am awesome, I'm rocking this,
00:32what I've got on, how I feel.
00:35You don't have to apologize for being fetch.
00:38That is so fetch.
00:39If you could ask Lindsay Lohan one thing, what would it be?
00:45I think what I would really want to know is,
00:47when you guys were filming, did you know
00:50that it was going to be this big a deal?
00:52I would really want to know that.
00:54I think it blew up Mean Girls the movie,
00:57and I want to know if the women who were in it,
00:59and her particularly, knew what a sensation it was going to be.
01:02That's funny.
01:03Put that in there.
01:04I want you to walk us through when you got that phone call,
01:07with your facial expressions included,
01:10what it was like when you got the job.
01:12Okay, so phone call, agent on the other line,
01:17agent goes, you got it.
01:18And I go, what?
01:20You got it.
01:21No!
01:22Stop!
01:23What?
01:23No!
01:24And then I just kind of, I was outside,
01:26so I just kind of ran in circles just to expend some energy,
01:30and then immediately started crying.
01:32Oh, God.
01:33And then I think I walked through the park for an hour
01:35just to kind of calm myself, and to have,
01:38I remember I said, I want one hour where I'm the only person
01:41in my circle who knows about this,
01:43before I called my mother, obviously.
01:46I'm not like a regular mom.
01:47I'm a cool mom.
01:48I came across your first announcement
01:52that you had gotten a Broadway gig in Les Mis a while ago.
01:55And so I want to show you the picture that you posted.
01:58It's like traditional.
01:59Maybe.
02:00Oh, my God, that made me cry.
02:02Oh, my God.
02:02And so just react to that, and like, where you are right now,
02:05and like, an original Broadway cast.
02:07Oh, my God, that was like, I remember this day.
02:08I was just like, this is as good as it gets.
02:10Like, I am in Les Mis, which is an epic, epic show.
02:14It's Fonteen, which I just could never have dreamed about.
02:17Like, I just, the joy on that face,
02:20I, like, need to remember that,
02:21because this is incredible, and sometimes it's super hard,
02:25and I just need to remember, like,
02:27the little high schooler and that person
02:30who, like, gets to do this.
02:32It is a total dream come true.
02:34Allie!
02:35My God!
02:37I wish that I could bake a cake
02:39made out of rainbows and smiles,
02:41and we'd all eat and be happy.
02:43She doesn't even go here!
02:45That's crazy!
02:47Oh, my gosh, emotions!
02:49I'm such a good friend.
02:53What advice would you have for young girls
02:55that are dealing with Regina's
02:57and encountering Regina's in their everyday lives?
02:59God, Karen, you are so stupid!
03:02My main thing is that, and I wish I had been told this,
03:05is that it's too much effort and a waste of energy
03:09to try to be like everybody else,
03:12or to try to fit in with everybody else,
03:15and the more time that you spend looking at what this girl has,
03:19and what this girl, what makes her more special,
03:21or beautiful, or smart, or whatever,
03:23the less time you have to devote to figuring out,
03:25well, what makes me unique, what makes me happy,
03:27what do I want to devote my energy to?
03:30So, I wish I had known that earlier in high school,
03:34because I think I got sometimes distracted,
03:36and it just delayed the time until I found out
03:39what brings me joy, and what makes me feel strong and powerful.
03:43Uh, so that was, that's my advice,
03:45to just ignore the, ignore the other voices,
03:48try and stay true to the things that bring you peace.
03:52Yes. And you can learn that lesson, and so many more,
03:56when you go see Mean Girls on Broadway.
03:58And buy our cast album, May 18th.
04:01May 18th, and, uh, Tony Award nominations on May 1st,
04:05so, beautiful! Look out for that!
04:08And now we have a dance party.
