00:00President Trump was joined in the Oval Office on Wednesday by FBI Director Cash Patel and
00:04Attorney General Pam Bondi to tout his administration's accomplishments when it
00:09comes to cutting violent crime across the country. And the president announced the
00:13results of something called Operation Summer Heat. It was a multi-agency focus on violent
00:18crime during the summer months when those numbers traditionally tick up.
00:21Working with state and local partners, the FBI arrested over 8,000 violent criminals during the
00:27course of this period. In major cities like in New Orleans, Nashville, we saw a 250% increase in
00:34arrests. Trump said FBI offices in all 50 states coordinated with 20 federal agencies to, as he
00:40reported, decrease violent crime by 20% compared to the same time last year. He said it was the
00:45largest such operation in American history. The president also revealed that the FBI went into
00:51Chicago several months before the recent and well-publicized crackdown, and he suggested that
00:56this is just the beginning. The start. We're going to go into other cities that we're not talking
01:01about purposely. We're getting ready to go in.
