00:00Welcome to Shusha, Azerbaijan's cradle of culture, known for its creativity, its artists and the
00:14landscapes that inspired them. So Samaya, you're going to highlight some of the cultural things
00:26we can see and do here and what better place to start than Shusha Fortress. Welcome to Fatale
00:31City, Shusha, Natali. Shusha was very famous for the silk, for the carpets, for the horses
00:38and lots of traders used to come to Shusha and these gates were opened early in the morning
00:45and were closed at night. Samaya took us on a short ride away to Jeddah Plain which overlooks
00:52the Shulti Gorge. I see the number of the tourists visiting Shusha is climbing because they come
00:59to see for example Jeddah Plain. Look at this beauty. It's incredible. Yeah, this is really
01:04incredible. This is a magnificent place and this is a history. At the same time there's
01:10a fairy tale. Just round the corner lies the Vagif mausoleum. It stands as a place for quiet
01:16reflection, honouring one of the poets that shaped the city and was built using Shusha
01:21stones. Vagif, Vagif was a very interesting and very creative person. He was advisor of
01:29the second king of Karabakh, Shusha. But first of all he was a very talented poet and this
01:35place is very unique because every year Vagif Poetry Nights are being celebrated here. All poets
01:43from different regions of Azerbaijan come together in this place.
01:51I've come a few kilometres out of the city to be closer to nature again. For thousands
01:57of years water has been flowing through these rocks at Chateau Waterfall. It's sometimes referred
02:03to as an umbrella. We've walked over two kilometres to get here and my word it's enchanting.
02:10Shusha has given the world remarkable talents and one of the most celebrated is composer Yuseir
02:16Hajubeili. The museum preserves the atmosphere of his home offering an intimate look into the
02:21life of an artist whose work continues to influence generations.
02:26Yuseir Hacıbəyev music, Yuseir Hacıbəyev's art and his work with the world's artists,
02:31the world's artists, the world's artists, the world's artists, the world's artists, the
02:34people who have so much appreciated. In 1907, Yuseir Hacıbəyev wrote the first opera in
02:381907, Yuseir Hacıbəyev's first opera in Azerbaijan and he was singing all the world. The
02:43music continues to play a key role in Shusha today. Mugham is one of the region's most iconic art forms.
03:07It's an enduring tribute to the city's musical tradition.
03:13Shusha's carpets are a work of art filled with symbolic patterns unique to this region.
03:20We're exploring designs that represent centuries of creativity.
03:24Qarabağ xalçaları öz rəkçələrləri ilə, öz ilmələrinin çıxılığı ilə və üzərindək olan
03:30naxışlarla, digər bölgələrdək olan xalçalarla fərqlənir. Misal üçün, bu xalçanı götürsək,
03:35bunun üzərində biz Xaribülbül güllərin motivlərini görə bilərək ki, Xaribülbül əsas
03:40şuşanın əsas simbollərindən bilidir. Və bu ancaq Qarabağda toxunan xalçalər
03:44da istifadə olunurdu, Xaribülbül gülləri simbolu.
03:46Seeing these carpets up close really show the artistry of Xuşa. The colours, the techniques
03:53and the storytelling are woven into every thread.
03:56We're continuing our journey at the Govar Aga mask, completed in 1752. It reflects classic
04:03Karabak architecture and craftsmanship. This mask has been carefully restored in the spirit
04:08of preserving the past and building the future.
04:11Shusha's cuisine is shaped by the region's landscapes, its seasons and its long-standing traditions.
04:18Today, I'll experience flavors that are simple, warm and connected to local culture.
04:24Bugün sizə bir neçə təamlarla tanış eləyəcəyik. Ən özəli şuşaplovumuzdur ki, şuşaplovu
04:30boyanadan hazırlanır. Düğünün içində oyuqlar açılır, oyuqlara qonaq sayı qədər yumurtalar çırpılır,
04:35öz yumurta öz formasını dəmdə alır.
04:39Our time in Shusha has revealed a city full of artistry, talent and beauty.
04:44From the past day to the present, this city is alive with pride, passion and creative energy.
04:50It's been inspiring to witness.
