00:00The Venezuelan government sent a letter to the President of the United Nations Security Council to call for an urgent meeting of the Security Council in light of recent U.S. threats.
00:08The Venezuelan Foreign Minister opened the letter with and writing to you in your capacity as President of the United Nations Security Council to denounce a serious attack on the peace, security and stability of the Bolivar Republic of Venezuela, as well as the Latin American and Caribbean region as a whole.
00:23It continues in the history of Venezuela never before as a head of state and or government of a foreign power come up with the deranged idea that Venezuelan national territory, including its oil fields and other assets, belongs to them.
00:38This delusion is compounded by the ultimatum that if Venezuela does not surrender to their will, our nation will be attacked by their military forces.
00:45Furthermore, the President of the United States of America is violating with impunity and before the whole world our national sovereignty, territorial integrity and political independence of the Bolivar Republic of Venezuela,
00:57sacred principles upon which we have built our nation and which are clearly recognized in the Charter of the United Nations.
01:04The Foreign Minister added that gunboat diplomacy to extort peoples belongs to an era that humanity has already overcome.
01:12If this Security Council ignores this crime of aggression, which is evident to the world, it would be accepting the destruction of the entire collective security system of the United Nations,
01:23which has caused people so much to build over the past 80 years.
01:27To conclude, in light of the foregoing, we request that an urgent meeting of the Security Council be convened to discuss the ongoing U.S. aggression against the Bolivar Republic of Venezuela
01:37and, in accordance with the provisions of Article 39 of the Charter of the United Nations, to adopt the necessary measures to restore international legality.
