00:00Out of your trip to Kenya, I want to hear all about it.
00:03You mentioned that.
00:04Yes, I mean, we're just so in awe of you, you do it all.
00:08But tell me a little bit about your trip.
00:10It was truly life changing and not in like, when you say words,
00:15it genuinely was life and to see firsthand the actual work that they're doing.
00:21And what moved me the most was, so the villages that we visited a few years ago,
00:27there were no schools, let alone high schools or colleges.
00:30And we helped build the first college and we visited an all girls high school.
00:35And the first people who are going to go to college in the Maasai Mara or
00:38are a high school of girls, which I was just like so moved and so
00:42blown away because that to me is the epitome of girl power.
00:44And these girls are going to be lawyers and doctors and nurses and whatever they
00:50want to be, they're going to be that.
00:51And I was just moved to tears being there and witnessing it and
00:54being able to help in any way that I could.
00:56Amazing.
00:57Well, and speaking of girl power, I mean,
00:58your music is the epitome of girl power.
01:01You have something new coming out this week, don't you?
01:04Tell me a little bit about that.
01:05I do, it kind of happens.
01:07Just kidding, nothing, nothing ever just happens.
01:10But yeah, I have a song that I'm really excited about.
01:12I'm featuring on a record.
01:14The DJ Rehab asked me to collaborate with him on this record called Rumors.
01:19And it happened while I was shooting D3.
01:21And right after Kenya, I flew to Italy, we shot the music video in the Amalfi Coast,
01:25which was one of those pinching moments.
01:26It's like, OK, I could do this every day.
01:29And it comes out this week.
01:30I'm really excited about the record.
01:32I think it's one of my favorites that I've released.
01:35I hope people love it.
01:36I love working with Rehab.
01:38And it's a really cool song.
01:40It's empowering in its own way.
01:43You'll hear it, and you'll know what I mean.
01:44But I love it.
01:45I love that.
01:46So tell me a little bit about D3, what you can.
01:49You wrapped filming.
01:51You said goodbye to your characters for now.
01:54Yes.
01:54We did, which was definitely the hardest part.
01:56It kind of made every day a little bit more special, though, knowing that it was the last
02:00ones that we would live.
02:02But D3 and the whole Descendants franchise is so close to our hearts.
02:06And Evie is like me.
02:09It's who I am.
02:10We're a part of who I am.
02:11So Descendants 3, I can't tell you too much.
02:13It's definitely way bigger than the first and second one, which I was like, how are we
02:17going to make it bigger?
02:18It is.
02:18The music is incredible.
02:20Incredible.
02:22The storylines are beautiful.
02:24They're really meaningful storylines and really of the moment.
02:28I don't want to give too much away, but it's a really strong statement that we're saying
02:31at the end of the movie.
02:32I absolutely love that.
02:33And just briefly, obviously, we are at the MTV VMAs.
02:37What is your favorite music video of all time?
02:39Oh, I know, very hard.
02:43I've been saying Waiting for Tonight by JLo.
02:47Tonight is her night.
02:48She has been one of my biggest inspirations since I was a little girl.
02:52And I remember vividly watching that music video for the first time.
02:55And to this day, I use it as a reference to my performances or for my music videos.
02:58So I'm going to say that one is definitely up there.
03:01Definitely up there.
03:02Well, and it is her night, but it's also yours because you look so gorgeous.
03:05Thank you so much.
03:06And we love talking to you always.
03:07I love you guys.
03:08Send my love to everyone.
03:09Oh, I will.
03:10Nick, do you actually mind grabbing a quick little pic of us?
